The numbers you are seeing are dealers selling them at whatever to remove them from floorplan .As of this point in time Dodge has not issued a coupon like they did in 09Are these dealers selling it at a loss or is there an incentive on the Vipers now?
How much would floor plan cost per month on a $100k car?The numbers you are seeing are dealers selling them at whatever to remove them from floorplan .As of this point in time Dodge has not issued a coupon like they did in 09
Hmm, if I bought the red '13 & had it shipped to Woodhouse, get some WMD goodies, then ship to me ... stop, stop, control yourself. lol
My experience is after a car is discontinued, there's a better chance for reduced depreciation or MAYBE even appreciation. BTW what's the word on '15's - changes - updates etc.?
If your SERIOUS i can easily arrange a test drive on a Gen 5 in Monmouth County. PM me your phone numberI understand your point. In my opinion, being that the heavily discounted cars are GTSs, I think that pricing won't go up that much if any. At this point, I think that the GTSs with discounts are great for someone who wants to drive the car and loose the least money possible, but I do not foresee them going back up to MSRP unless SRT stops making the car in the very near future. Of course we are all guessing at this point, and only time will tell. I just want to drive one to determine if I will buy one, but we all know how difficult that is!

You have a pmThat really hurts and that is one reason why I probably will never buy a new snake.
I would really be POed if I had bought one in 13 at MSRP and now see that you can get one for 20% off.
I don't know of any other manufacturers of high end vehicles allowing this kind of hit.
I understand the premium to get the car you want rather than one sitting at a dealer but this pricing just means that a used SRT third party would probably have to sell in the 70s. That is insane.
Once they are sold Vipers will be sold close to MSRP.
Your being way too honest and rational LOL. At the price point some of these guys bought the 5 at the last thing they want to hear is a TRUTHFUL market evaluation. Be careful or you will be branded a hater like myselfThat's just not true. No one is going to pay MSRP on any viper that was previously heavily discounted.
There is little demand now at those deep discounts why on earth would demand suddenly increase to that extent?
This is the slippery slope that happens once you start seeing these deep discounts. There's no going back.
Even the TA is being discounted to move them, and that's the "hottest" model.
PS Viper Jon I believe you own or owned my old Gen 3 Coupe (Red with Black Stripe )mint condition purchased from Buhler
The discounts on the TA are very little, and a token gesture to allow the buyer to feel he's getting a bit of a deal while lots of other Vipers are reduced. Taking $4k off a TA compared to $20+k off a GTS is nothing, with the car's selling because it's what their buyers want, and at a price they feel is fair. SRT is learning their lesson, and the Stryker Green paint at $5700 vs $14000 is one indication, and offering the GT package on an SRT is another value priced move that should be popular. It's also been tough value optics with GM offering a base Stingray from $52 because some think for some reason that they should be similarly priced. Had they led with the Z06 or a more comparable performance model closer to $100k then Viper pricing would have made sense even to the casual on-looker, and well-priced to those who seek a more rare, exotic or hand-built car. It's too easy for those who have no intention to buy a Gen V, or any other hand-built car of its nature, to call it expensive...and they're usually the ones that mention a $140k price vs $100k to help make their argument..That's just not true. The upcoming Z06 will never ever outperform the ZR1, it will be lucky to outperform the last Z06. Neither last Z06 or ZR1 sold well, GM had to offer big discounts and zero financing to push them off the lots. At 90k, base Viper costs less than the previous upper level, like Carbon or Centennial Editions of Z06. The recently corrected pricing on Vipers will generate more sales, I cannot be the only one seriously considering buying one. All the faults new Vipers might have had from my perspective, tend to disappear as the price goes down.I pretty much agree with everything you've stated, however you can buy the TA for 112K all day long (a 8k reduction in price)! The TA is better priced and equipped for it's target market. Several have made the transition from Corvette to Viper, and now the Viper is now (with drastic discounts) more within reach of Corvette owners. I have intention of buying the Viper this year (hopefully) but it is expensive from a Corvette 427 comparison. Not to say that Corvette owners are less affluent (don't know per se) but a Corvette is a lot more affordable than a Viper GTS which the MSRP is above the Corvette ZR1 (Corvette's flagship car, until the recent C7Z06 debut, which coincidentally will sell for much less than the ZR1 and out perform it). Chevy understands selling just 482 ZR1's last year, they were at the wrong price point!
New buyers are moving up to the Viper with these reductions vs the more affluent buyer from Ferrari & Porsche, making a lateral or cut back move. You pay for what you get in a Viper, but the Dodge/SRT infrastructure is limiting. Now I can get an upgraded paint, interior, and options basically (for free) for the base price on the GTS. It's a painful correction in terms of resale, but will bring more Viper owners on board and perhaps in the long run, ensure it's survival.
I will take a big hit on my 427 but the drastic discounts of the GTS make it amenable, vs upgrading the Vette and no getting any more resale value.

How about a little perspective and context. The starting price for the 2014 Camero Z28 is $75,000.00. The SRT Viper is a bargain and at the fire sale prices above, it is a steal.
If you want to reserve any discussions for somewhere else, you should not start them here. Since I already have one Viper, I would say the 40 hp difference from the Viper I have right now did not motivate me very much. The fact I am looking for a replacement for my daily driver was another factor. As the price goes down, I tend to be more forgiving even though originally, I was set on getting a Rossion for a daily driver. I have to sit in the new Viper first to figure out if I can live with it on daily basis though. This is different than buying a weekend toy since I would be keeping both.I'll reserve the C7Z06 vs ZR1 debate for the Corvette forum, but you basically re-affirmed what I previously stated regarding sales, pricing, and Corvette owner's such as yourself taking more of an interest in the drastically reduced Vipers. What are the faults, from your perspective, does the Viper have?
