I have noticed the smell of amonia in the cockpit of my GTS while driving. I have also had a problem with the engine light on after my exhaust and headers were installed. They replaced the O2 sensor a while ago but the light is still on and now the smell of amonia. Anyone else have this happen? HELP!

Hi Jerry, Your problem could be all one, or two individual ones I suppose. A good exhaust system inspection is in order here. It is possible that the engine light and smell are both caused by air being able to enter your exhaust system upstream from your cats and ego sensors. I assume you still have all four of the ego sensors installed. You should look for a flange or slip joint that is letting in air. This will drive an ego nuts as it is not reading the true combustion value and changes the air fuel which may be making you cats (if you have them) work overtime. They can creat the smell. If this is way off then check for something goofy with the heater core. One way to diagnose is to put the blower on high, spray some lysol deoderizer above the intake air and let it **** through.
