I believe there have been other threads that dive pretty deep into this subject.

I recall the green antifreeze is corrosive to aluminum and it lacks chemicals that help to avoid electrolysis of the aluminum. In my other aluminum engines, I use the yellow stuff, which is anti-corrosive/friendly to aluminum, and has a lubricant for seals and such.

Thanks for the link, good read, when I changed mine a few months ago when I first got it I used Prestone extended life 5 year/150. I kept a half bottle in case I needed some for a top off and just went in the garage and looked at it. It says it contains no silicates etc. so I guess that is what I needed according to the link with Tom. Funny thing is it looks "green" (actually it is yellow) which I know is just a dye anyway but that is why I was a little worried, glad to know they make extended life that is green too.

Figure it's worth mentioning that the link provided is for a Gen 2 car. It might be worth noting that these cars came with the green antifreeze. The SRT cars 2003 and newer come with what I figure is just Mopars version of GMs Dexcool, in that it is pink and long life.

I think it may be possible to change over the original Gen 2s to the newer long life antifreeze, but you would have to make absolutely sure there was no green ethylene glycol in there at all. But given the possible problems with not having the old completely evacuated it is better to just go with either green or global in the Gen 2s.

But again in an 08 just buy the Mopar pink, can't go wrong, and the price is negligible.

Oh ya, and don't put in "water wetter", it expands like crazy on a road course, don't ask me how I know........
