So, trying to improve the looks of my engine a bit. Was going to get the MGW billet aluminum oil filler cap with Sneaky Pete logo. But, remembered that there is also a crankcase breather w/filter that is sold by Roe Racing (and others).

Question is, is that additional breather unit with a filter something that is needed, especially if the engine is not modded? My objective here is looks, but don't want to miss adding a part that would also be better for the engine.

For looks alone, I prefer the MGW polished billet oil filler cap.

Thoughts, opinions?

Thanks.

I've got the Sneaky Pete oil cap and dip stick handle. Very nice MGW items. If I could have found the chromed Roe breather I would have preferred it. The best item I found to date has been the MGW Sneaky Pete shift knob. What a difference. I didn't like the First Strike knob but the round one is great. Just a knob shortened the throw. :drive:

If your car is not modded you should not need the breather. It is generally used to relieve excess crankcase pressure with a supercharger. The supercharger creates positive pressure (i.e. the opposite of vacuum) so the normal crankcase ventilation system doesn't work well enough to remove the pressure from the crankcase.

Okay, cool....that is what I thought but wanted to make sure by checking with you guys.:2tu:

Will go with the MGW Sneaky Pete cap!

By the way, I have some of the MGW billet pieces in my interior and they are a great upgrade - glove box door w/red logo, ash tray and heater knobs.

Thanks:2tu:

I assume you don't do road courses with the car....if you did you might benefit from a breather/catchcan up top to collect all that spew from the top end. Otherwise nope.:drive:

Thanks Drumr, but no, car never sees any tracktime....just a pleasure car. Received the MGW pieces and they are quite nice, should make a really nice addition to the engine compartment look.:2tu:
