Did you have to modify it to fit? IF so what did you have to do. I tried Focal's K2's and they didnt fit right. Had to build the door up and then it looked pregnant! The Quarts mounting depth is 2.5" vs 3" for the K2. I am hoping I can get some input before I order Quarts. If you replaced your front speakers, even if you just let me know the model number I can check their required mounting depth and that would be quite helpful.

From what I have read thus far it seems the Gen III has a slightly deeper mounting depth.

Be careful on the passenger side, if the cover sticks out at all so that it isn't flush with the door, it will interfere with the knee bolster and the door won't close right.

I got Focal 6.5" Utopia 165W separates in the door using the factory locations for the midrange and tweeter.

I did, required some minor cutting of the support structure to make them fit. The grills just press into the carpeted hole and look good. I'm on the road cannot give you the model number, but it was the expensive model if there is a choice. You just have to take the door panel out and remove a small amount of material to make them fit as they are larger than the stock speakers. Grills are as flush as factory, no issue there. email me and I can give you the model if it matters when I get back

Put MB Quarts in my 96. While they were not a simple bolt in, only a little trimming and some drilling had them fitting flush. I also changed out the door tweeters at the same time.

They were really harsh sounding in the beginning. Very crisp and clear, but unbearable to listen to for any length of time. I turned down the adjustable cross over to the minimum high frequency setting, and they were still a bit bright for me.

Speakers were much higher quality than stock and it made a world of difference, but ya gotta kill those highs.

Similar to above, I had the local stereo shop install MB Quart speakers in mine. They replaced the door speakers and tweeters and the two subs with MB Quart 6.5s. Also replaced the stock amps with one Rockford Fosgate. I'm very happy with the door speakers, they look exactly the same as the stock ones except the small MB Quart label on the grill. The mistake was replacing the subs with coax. I'm gonna change those to JL Audio subs.

Why is it a mistake to replace the subs with coax? I am/was considering that, i replaced my door speakers with polk audio and new pioneer head, factory amp, sounds great.

I just think I could get a cleaner, more powerful bass with even a couple of 6" subs there instead of the coax speakers. It's a noticable improvement over the stock system as is, but I think it could be better.
