am i the only one who thinks the gen3 seats are retardedly uncomfortable and make my back sweaty as hell, i have sparco milanos in one of my supras, and their my favorite seats in the world and was contemplating putting a set in both of my vipers, bc they come in black leather, and would keep the "exotic racing seat" flavor. i just want to know if they will fit, how it will look and if anyone else has put aftermarket seats in their snake and what their thoughts were about it.

thanks and sorry for the noob questions so much as of lately

strange that you find them uncomfy, the opinion around here and mine too is that they are supercomfy. If you'd talk about the weight that would be a different story. I'd say easy 50 lb savings right there.

I agree with madman. They are the most comfortable seats that I've ever been in. If you want Sparco Milanos, do it. It's your car.

For sportscar seats they are fantastic but that is just my opinions as i have heard everthing from too bolstered, too high, and too narrow. Coming from a 911, i love the seats.

I remember some pics of a car on the site with Sparcos i think. I have the pic at home if you can not find it.

I found I needed a lumbar support for my back. Bougth a great one that almost matches the seat for $130 and now the seats are a lot better for me in comfort. That was my only problem with the seats. :2tu:

I find the Gen III seats far too narrow, and they dig into my shoulder blades badly. I am looking for an upholstery shop nearby that can strip off the covers and "widen" the frames a bit.

Hopefully it will solve the problem. If not, than I will need to go aftermarket as well.

I looked into aftermarket seats.

The nicest ones I found were the Misano seats by Cobra

Lightweight, full carbon fiber, available in any combination of leather and other fabrics.

The only issue was that you would need to get a custom bracket made to fit them, as there is no Viper fitment available from the factory.

I love that seat. You asked about fitting the seat to your viper. Here is the specs for that seat.

I need to pay special attention to the comfort of any type of seat due to a slight back problem, but when I sat in an SRT-10 two years ago the seat felt nice & snug, however when you have broad shoulders I can see a problem with the side bolsters like SSunburn indicated.

Found the pic. They are recaros... Not a fan of the look but to each his own. The reason i have the pic is I love the look of these sport hoops. Unfortunately they stopped making them. If anyone has a set I would gladly take them off your hands. These were made by Startech.

what i feel is so uncomfortable about them is that they are far too wide for my hips and lower back and too tall for my shoulders

If you are slim i can see that being the case. I am 5'10" and stocky so they fit perfect. Love them.

You may be able to take them to a interior shop who can make the side bolsters larger. Unique Autosports (Unique whips) had a episode where they altered the seats for a over weight guy. I would assume someone could do the reverse. By the way, that episode is hysterical since the takes the owner of Unique for a ride and crashes the car and winds up on the lawn of a neighboring house down the block from the shop.

i ended up goin with sparco pro 2000's bc sparco sponsors me with drifting, i figured theyd help me with this project and they sure did, they said only the pro 2000 or the evo is the only seat that will fit in a viper, so im getting those and recovering them in black and yellow leather

You just reminded me of the guy who had Unique Whips hack the bolsters off his Gen III seats because he was so fat. Thanks for giving me the creeps! :D
