I've been looking for a low mileage 96 GTS for a while. Asking prices seem to be in mid to upper $60K range USD. I am not sure what they are selling for, if they are actually selling. There is one in Ontario Canada that has been for sale for a while. I said I would not pay their asking price and they didn't even bother to counter.
I think they are worth what you want to pay but sub $50K is a good target for a car with <5000 miles. Your call on the premium you want to pay for even lower miles.

Thanks everyone. Looking to possibly purchase one to hang on to. I know there will be those who say I should drive it but it was the first Viper that captured my attention.

You and me both…I can still remember that day, when I went to the AutoShow and saw that 96 up on a turn table. I had to elbow my way in to just get close enought to have a good look.
It was everything I had ever wanted. It was the Daytona Coupe or Cobra, but fit for the street. You could drive it to the track, with the A/C on and music blasting. Lock it up outside the motel for a restless nights sleep, then get in in the Morning and show up at the track. You would then proceed to clean everybody's clock, including those Countaches and Ferrari's that were your previous dream cars.
Everyone you spoke to at the track knew about the Vipers, and they mostly all said if they could not have the car they were currently driving, that the Viper Coupe would be their next track car.
At the end of the long track event weekend, you would hop back inside your Viper and head back home on the freeway, sometimes with flat spotted tires. Arrived back home, dead tired, and put the car, still with track numbers and patina, back into the garage, and then take one long lingering glance at it, before going inside and up to bed.
These were the glory days of the Viper, and that feeling is still encapsulated in these 96-97 American Racing colors Blue White Coupes.

Mine too. The convertibles never really intrigued me, but when I first saw the blue/white coupe concept vehicle, my jaw hit the ground. That led to me buying the '06 blue/white when it became available. I would still like a '96 blue/white to park. Those cars will surely appreciate in value, and not really cost you anything to keep around.

I see asking prices are up there for the 96 blu/wt cars. I also see they have been for sale for a long time. I dont think they are getting near that. Just my opinion. First time I saw one, I was going to a Ferrari event at Summit Point. I was driving my 930 into the pit area and what was in front of me.....Blue/white GTS. All I remember was saying WOW that is a cool car. Fast forward to last year, I wanted a 96 GTS, prices were to inflated for me and I was concerned about who completed the frame recalls on these early cars. Please no offense should be taken. So I got my second choice an 02 Graphite/Silver. I could have gotten any Viper I wanted, but the GTS is just such a bad ass looking car no matter what the color!!!

I would say a super clean low mileage GTS should be going for approx mid 50's. These cars are super hard to find and getting harder every day. As far as being on the market for a while this is the norm for any Viper as they have a smaller market segment. You may get one cheap if you can find a motivated seller that NEEDS the money and needs to move it quick. Prices are at an all time low right not but seem to be heading in the up in the right direction. JMHO.
Bernies cars are always impeccable, make him an offer. You can pretty much buy it sight unseen if buying from Bernie. You may be paying a little more than if you buy private but you are buying with confidence as to what you are getting is as advertised and will be driving it tomorrow. Providing you don't live in my neighborhood with all the snow and salt.

Right now there are some really great modified GEN2s out there for sale. Very sweet deals considering the amount of money it would take to build these cars.
Just sayin, hope you are certain you want a stock un-modified car. A change in heart later can get pretty expensive.

Buy one of the many twin turbo Vipers for sale. Some great deals out there.
O yeah...as to the 96 and 97 B/W's, I would say that you can fine a nice low mile example for low $40's, maybe even high $30's if you come across someone wanting to move one quick.

I am looking to stay stock in this car as I've done or am planning to do mods on a couple of my others. If I can find a 96 Coupe in the $40's I'll even pay a finders fee.

I have been looking into that car. It is priced at approx $70,000 USD. With the current exchange rate that is close to $80,000 CDN plus 10% tax so we are looking at approx $90,000 delivered to me. Nice car and extraordinarily clean but the overall price is substantial.

I looked at this one as well. Like Sharky, I looked at the total purchase price and anyone in the US would have to pay to import it to the US. Way too expensive all in.
Not much a gambling man however, I too hope his predictions are accurate as I have no desire to part with mine anytime soon.

Well in 20 yrs I would hope it would be worth a lot more than $100k if anything at all. New generations coming have no clue, to busy living life on youtube. There into gadgets and old GTS doesn't offer any gadgets. Drive the crap out of mine, I'm 50 now and do I really care what the car is worth in 10 yrs or 20 when I'm in a nursing home ******* in a diaper. Any time you are on the road with a car with 500miles or 50,000miles you could end up in a wreck. So what was the point of keeping the mileage low? You now have a 500 mile car worth nothing.

Sharky buy a driver. If you bought that car from legendary all you are going to do is let it sit in the garage. I've seen the car up close and personal its like brand new. You will be so scared to get a stone chip or park the car anywhere you will end up not enjoying it.

Once the spring comes, more will be for sale. I picked my 96 up last summer for 46k. 2800 miles on it. I was looking for a driver ( 30k plus) but they were not in the best of shape. After 3 month of searching and several let downs, the right one showed up. It's perfect, but like the guys said I won't enjoy it the same as a higher mileage ones.
