The comments at the end are telling. Sounds like my kind of people...screw the fancy electronics..they want less weight, more HP. Hope SRT is listening.

Ralph has said it over and over. There will be a new Viper. There have been pics of them testing the new Vipers traction control system. I will take Ralph's word over the silly wording of some article by an uninformed journalist.

Lets not lose faith in the Viper and its people who design it. There will be a Viper.

And maybe something in addition to. :eater:

Seems pretty consistent with what Ralph has been saying all along. The GenV will be the successor. It will have a V10. But the point being missed in this story is that Ralph is the head of SRT AND designing the GenV. <- Kid in a candy store which can only be good for us.

Remember he also said at VOI that the interiors would be awesome and that probably meant better sound systems also since there have always been complaints about that too. I think the new car will be exceptional in EVERY way not just performance wise and this will be good for past and future buyers. Way to go Ralph, hopefully he will start to leak other tid bits soon.

Ah..... I was just reporting what I found on the internet. However with that said, for some strange reason my gut instinct is telling me that the new Viper is going to have a new little brother released along with it. Just have a weird feeling about that.

That would be o.k. with me. Anybody remember the copperhead concept? :)

Most likely a Chrysler V8 version sharing some of the same parts. Watch for the new Viper at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

Well they have reasigned the Plant Mgr back to CAAP, Dodge has a new head of SRT with Ralph, folks are being moved around for new positions in SRT and that includes the new flagship model of the line ( i.e. the Viper) , so I think we have no worries. Considering whom Dodge now has in charge , I don't think we have had such a dedicated , passionate group of individuals since the first days of the Viper Team. We are looking towards a brilliant time in the life of the Viper that will likely be more exciting than anytime since it's birth. It will be a different machine, but the genes will all be there in their glory -- keep da faith, baby !!!

I know for a fact that they are working on the new Viper. Pictures of what looks like a Gen 4 in the snow are actually pics of a Gen 5 engineering mule. They were testing the traction control that is federally mandated. The mule had Gen 4 body panels for obvious reasons. The engineers are hard at work on a Gen 5, I'm positive.

I think my wallet is headed for some lean times!
