August 16th-18th - Vipers at the Beach! - Myrtle Beach, SC

We will be joining our Mopar brethren for the finale of Mopar Week in Myrtle Beach August 16-18, 2013. This will be a Friday-Sunday VCA event.

This will be a weekend event for most of our members. We will be staying at the Crown Reef resort in Myrtle. http://www.crownreef.com/. You are welcome to stay elsewhere, but it would be nice to have everyone at one location. Rates are discounted 20% for those attending. Rates should come out to 130-160 per night. There are large jacuzzi king suites that are not part of the group rate you may also book at normal rates.

If we can book at least 10 rooms, then the rates are very much cheaper. I need 10 confirmations in this thread before we can do that.

UPDATE:

The sales manager at the Crown Reef called me this morning and they have adjusted the "MOPR" code rates to match those of our negotiated group rate. I will email those that are attending with the pricing for rooms. She said to call in and book, but online may work as well... I am about to check that out.

We may have some guys from Deep South Mopars at the hotel as well. They will not be partaking in our club meals or anything (they have their own plans), but I am happy to share the parking area with them.

Anyone else book their room yet? I am definitely ready for this small vacation

$30 per person will help the club cover your Lunch Saturday, Dinner Saturday night, and Brunch Sunday. Please give your cash to Brian or myself once we get settled in.

Is anyone interested in participating in the car show Saturday?

Registrations runs from 8am to 12pm. Judging begins at 12pm. You enter your car into the car show for $20.00. Your car or truck will be judged by your overall interior & exterior appearance. Pay only $10.00 if you prefer to just "show" your car off & not be judged.

This would mean skipping lunch with the club at the hotel. I, personally, am on planning arriving at the show around 2pm and pay the $10 for decent parking to check out the cars and walk around a bit, then everyone from the show is going to "Cruise the Strip" in what I am sure will be a parade-like atmosphere at 6pm. 5-6 hours at a car show is about all I can take. Any other opinions?
