I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume I'm the youngest one on this forum, I'm 22.

What is typically the average age for a Viper owner? I've met a couple and they were in their mid 40s and they were complete ********** to me, and I think it was because I was young..

Maybe the older guys acted like ********** because you came across as bragging that you own a Viper at an early age?

Perspective.

Bought my first Viper at 21 (22 now). Seem to get along with the majority of the Viper community. As long as you respect others, they will respect you! There will always be a few guys out there that are stuck up, can't do anything but ignore them.

I guess the question is if you have worked for the Viper yourself and earned it or had your parents buy it for you...many people see such a car as a reward for lots of hard work. Also, there is the question of responsibility - is a young driver mature enough to drive such a demanding car? I don't necessarily always agree with these view points, but in many cases they are valid, altough I'm sure there are many exceptions out there.

This. I bought my first viper at 23. I'd get some odd/funny comments from time to time from strangers but overall, no one cares how old you are.

I met a young "owner" about 6-7 yrs ago. He was probably 20ish. Probably Daddy's car. Anywho, he was bragging about how much power the car had because the tires spun so easy. I asked how much psi were in them. He said 44. I said it's supposed to be 29. He said the tire had 44 (which is max of course) and that is what he's gonna run. WHATEVER!

my advise, be humble. You've got a great car at an age that most wouldn't. I don't know the circumstances around your ownership. Doesn't matter. Enjoy it, be careful.

Now, go cruise the High Schools while you can and pick up some cheerleaders. In a few years you'll be considered an old man and a perv. :D (so I hear :D)

Bought mines for an early gift for my 21st Birthday. Been hard at work for it since I was 15 and was it worth it. Every other viper owner I've came across was very respectful and easy going. Very cool people to hang with.

I'm just about 34 now and bought my first Viper at 33 and have waited 20 years to get one and finally felt as if I had done enough professionally to earn it and reward myself with my childhood dream car. Have owned many other sports cars before the Viper including (from most recent to oldest) 2008 Audi TT, 2002 Audi TT, 2005 Nissan 350Z, Acura RSX, and 1994 Chevy Camaro (first car I ever bought at age 21), but all were a compromise of some sort no matter how much I loved them. My first car at 17 years old was actually not mine, as i had to beg to use my parents' 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cierra that didn't have power anything, and smelled like musty farts most of the time thanks to a friend who sharted himself in the passenger seat one time! I would literally pick girls up for dates and they would scowl at the car and ask me if it was SERIOUSLY my car. haha! If I had owned a Viper in my early 20's, I probably would not be alive today as I was not as careful or mature as I am now, however, I also could not afford one back then, nor could I justify such a purchase even when I could afford it. I waited to buy it until it felt like I had achieved enough professionally to reward myself with one of my lifelong dream cars, the Viper.

I would never be rude to anyone, especially not a fellow car/Viper guy, but I'm sure that the first thing that would go through even my non-judgemental mind if I met someone who bought a Viper at age 21 (not knowing the year or purchase price or the person's situation) is that they were a spoiled rich kid who's parents essentially bought them the car either directly or indirectly, or that they didn't earn it since they are likely straight out of college. No offense meant as I'm sure we would get along great if I met you, but I'm sure that's the same thing those other guys were thinking too and they probably couldn't hold back their feelings.

It is tough to be so young and own such a high end rare exotic like a Viper without getting a bunch of negative reactions from people who will rush to make negative assumptions about you. Unfortunately you will have to learn to roll with the punches until you are a bit older, or you are going to get annoyed by people's negative comments and reactions to you driving a Viper for quite a few years.

Good for you! My only 2 sense here is that hard work during teenage years is VERY different from hard work in the real world. It's hard to start out with the best when you are just starting out as it leaves a lot less to truly strive for through a lot more hard work once you really get out in the real world in the workforce. My last piece of advice is to not ever make yourself car poor. If you buy a Viper but either still live at home with your parents because you can't afford your own place, or don't have a nice house or apartment to call your own, then a Viper probably is a very poor choice to buy. But regardless, you own it and congrats, and I hope you drive it responsibly and get a lot of enjoyment out of it. And assuming you are single, I'm sure it won't hurt in picking up some hot young chicks in their 20's!

I am guessing the average age is somewhere in the late 30's but I can't see why this matters...

This topic comes up every few months, I'm sure there are people younger than you and most don't care.
I wasn't driving my car and they didn't even know I had one... I saw one and aproached them and said nice car and tried to engage in a conversation about their car..

Douchbags will be douchbags no matter the age. The other viper owners I've met have been cool and helpful and I've had mine since I was 25.

Yeah, you are the probably the youngest.

We could start a thread about who has the biggest head but it seems we already answered that question.

Typical ****** response, this was a curiousity thread. I noticed that most people who own vipers are older. I just wanted to know how old everyone on here was? Maybe the thread title put off the wrong impression?

No reason for me to inflate my ego. I did a whole year deployment to Afghanistan in the middle of nowhere living in a tent in the ground eating meals in a brown plastic bag for 365 days just so I could save up money to buy a Viper, and I did.

I did the same thing, I just don't post about it. Did you get another Viper after the wreck?

My mom got a 94 when I was 24. Drove it a few times and thought it was pretty fun. About a year later I decided I needed something more fun for my commute so I bought one of my own (an 04). Had it for almost 6 months now and coming up on my 26th birthday next week. I don't forsee not having one any time soon ;). The car is a blast to drive and the local club and some other car groups I've found are a fun bunch of guys.

The thing I always tell people is that you can get them for the same price as a decently appointed brand new car. I was looking at a few new Challengers for a while then realized I could get a Viper for the same price or less. Hell, a regular 4 door sedan costs more than some of the Vipers out there. Since the only thing I need to haul is myself to work and back, I don't need extra seats and trunk space.

You should be proud of owning such a nice car at such a young age. There are a bunch of threads like this on the site and they always seem to evolve into a discussion about life priorities. Thanks for your service:usa:

Only if he OWNS it! :lmao:

I have a feeling that's going to be a write off pretty soon. He's going into the corner WAY too fast :D

In all seriousness...age makes no difference...drive carefully and enjoy the car.
