Average age of Viper owners?

Typical ****** response, this was a curiousity thread. I noticed that most people who own vipers are older. I just wanted to know how old everyone on here was? Maybe the thread title put off the wrong impression?

No reason for me to inflate my ego. I did a whole year deployment to Afghanistan in the middle of nowhere living in a tent in the ground eating meals in a brown plastic bag for 365 days just so I could save up money to buy a Viper, and I did.

It was somewhat to be funny, but take these thread examples and tell me what type of impression you get.

What is everyone's credit score? Mine is 800, but just curious what everyone else has.

How much money does the average Viper owner make? I make 4 million a year, but curious what everyone else makes.

By the way, I'm 25, so I'm in the younger crowd.

Same. I was a lot more stupid when I was younger. But my cars were a lot slower! Out of all the cars I have owned I behave the most in the Viper, by far!

The the topic of the thread, the Viper was a dream of mine ever since I was a little kid on a bike and skateboard. For 20 years it was my goal that I knew someday I would fulfill.

15 years of busting ass allowed me to buy my first Viper at 31. There was a 10 year period where I knew I could get one, but the time was just not right for me. It wouldn't have been hard to own a used Gen 1 or 2, but I felt better by building my foundation first. The first Viper I ever sat in was the one I bought. The first time I ever got a ride or drove one was after I forked over a large check for my '08 Aero coupe. Now at 32 I am on my 2nd and hope I get to enjoy these cars for several more decades to come.

I was bitten long before I could drive and the snake left its scar.

I'm right there with you man! Saw my first Viper in the dealership in 1992 when my parents went to buy our first Dodge Caravan and instantly fell in love. I was about 12 years old. Used that (and admittedly a few other special dream cars of mine too) to motivate myself like a carrot dangling in front of my face, and worked my a$$ off for many years, and am finally in a place where I was able to buy one without it really affecting my lifestyle, and now here I am living one of my childhood dreams. Waiting to get it when I was a bit older, more responsible, and when I felt that I had truly finally earned it at age 33 made buying it that much of a sweeter experience, and I still say that it is the best purchase I've ever made. I've made some friends through here already and from the local C&C events, and the car has more than paid for itself from that perspective.

There are some people I know who think negatively of me for getting a Viper at my relatively young age, especially since my son was only 7 months old when I bought it last summer, but I don't care what they think since they don't know my financial situation, and most people who say stuff like that are either jealous or miserable that they may never be able to do the same thing. I've also heard the comments about being too young to get a Viper because I look younger than I am, but I don't see why age matters as long as you are responsible driving the car and not putting yourself or your family in harm's way financially by overextending yourself to get one.

Now I just wish I had another Viper in the garage so I could have one in a more common color to drive more often! Definitely looking forward to another Viper down the road!!!!!

......I have done some preliminary calculations, and have concluded that I will be the age of 49.

... By deductive reasoning, it seems as though I will age 1 year with every passing calendar year.



........That does not bother me as much as the fact that MY VIPER WILL AGE ONE YEAR WITH EACH PASSING CALENDAR YEAR AS WELL.

I will be 66 next month. I was 62 when I bought my first Vipers after years of owning Vettes with the last one being a ZR1. I don't really see owning another Vette.

I don't care about age and that discussion; but, where I live there are only 3 - 4 other Viper owners in their entire region. Most are in their late 40's are 50's.

37 & this will be my 1st snake. Though have owned sports cars for twenty years and got hooked on owning exotics in my early 30's. age is just a number. not sure of the answer but i'll guess on average the age of a viper owner is between age 30 and 50, so 40 on average?

And not the AGE of the tires.

-4 sets a season.........that is excellent use of your Viper.

I don't understand the cars with tires that have been on the car 4 years, and still look new.

How about doing the average retirement age on here. I'm more interested in who planned correctly to leave the working force than who was able to buy a Viper.

There are a lot more people getting Vipers in their early 20s than you might think. I was one of them and I can think of a few I know personally. One of my friends got his first when he was 21, has gone through multiple since then.

These things are getting cheap now... I can also think of multiple people in their early 20s who own modded Corvettes, Mustangs, etc. that could have (and should have ) bought a Viper instead

There is also the question of paying cash / financing... even with the current economy, anybody with a decent job and a little sense can finance a Viper these days

I am retiring in two months and will be 66. As my youngest son said, he could have probably retired sooner if he didn't keep buying cars.

The average age for Viper owners is trending down. 20 Years ago, when the first Vipers came out, the only way to buy one was new. The cost was high and it was a pretty premium car that not everybody could afford.

Over the years, the price of the older cars has come down, and the age demographics has changed. Now you can buy a used Gen I for the price of a new average car. This has made used Vipers more obtainable.

All Viper owners, no matter what their age, are most welcome at all gatherings. No reason for ageism here.

All Vipers share the same DNA and appeal to the fun loving, and excitement seekers.

The age of either the Viper or the owner matters little.

I was robbed when I was 20 there was no Viper so I had to make
due with a Hemi Cuda when I came back from South East Asia.
Then a list of big V8 muscle cars,Super Bee, Duster, SS 396,
64 406 Vet, ect. My Viper purchase was as a gift to myself for
surving a transplant. The second one just so my wife had one of her own.

Always a car guy, my 63 corvette from my college days is still in my garage. Many years of work later and after having two long time friend pass away (brain tumor and other one cancer) I decided to better balance work and play. First viper at age 52, second one 6 months after that. Been enjoying them ever since and the socializing with a great bunch of viper owners and club members. Agree with others that I might not be here if I had a viper when I was younger as the rev limiter in my head now keeps me out of trouble!

The NE VCA has a wide age range , lots of guys in their 20's, 30's,40's , 50's and 60's! At least 7 of us were in our young to mid 20's when we bought our cars. Of course they were older gen 2's not gen 4's.

Bought my car when I was 21, 9 years ago, put 15k down pretty much financed the whole thing... I still rememeber my payment....$810.26 But I was living with my dad for the next 3 years (rent free). Other wise I would never have been able to afford the car if I had to pay rent or a mortage. I was working 2 jobs, pulling into the Home Depot (part time job) loading dock to park my car out back...Looking back on it I feel like a ****** for doing that. If my kid bought an expensive car living under my roof I'd make them pay rent. If you can afford to drive a nice car then you can afford to move out of your parents house. Funny how things change when you get older, Sorry Dad thanks for dealing with me!! However I dont regret the purchase one bit! Lots of great memories with the NEVCA and have made tons of good friends because of it.
