Sorry Jon, but there is no way a Subaru will be a competent driver in an Autocross. I have driven both, and they are not even classed together. You are seldom incorrect, and I am not flaming you, but this is a subject dear to my heart and it is often perpetuated even by the faithful. I have 2 FTD's at autocrosses ( not trying to be egotistical here), and this was when the car was classed in ASP. We all think the car is too big, but a Camaro or a Mustang is heavier and almost as wide, and they dominate in FS and ESP. We had ( National )trophy drivers in ESP , CP , FMod, and EP. The officer that happened to stop out used radar on all the cars through the slalom --- fastest car, a 98 Viper GTS. I am confident that a strong driver , with an ABS car should be able to take the Solo II National Championship in Topeka this year, as the Snake is now classed in Super Stock. Hoosiers are legal in this class and the only problem we have so far, is no one I know of has been campaigning a 2001 or 2002. Keep in mind the car won a National Championship in the 90's and was immediately banned as Vette drivers whined. The car went to ASP, and few folks ran after that. The Snake can hold it's own , can dominate, but so far few have autocrossed much.
