Just remember that there is a huge migration of commuters in the moring, going West on about every freeway, especially the 91. This "rush hour" lasts from 5:30 am to about 10 am, then it dies down for about 90 seconds, until all those commuters head back East in the evening. Even though a lot of employers have staggered shifts, the traffic still blows. This is true of about all the East-West freeways in LA/Orange/Riverside counties. The jobs are in LA and Orange counties, and affordable housing is out East, in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Maybe GTS Dean can build us some double-decker highways, (when we get out of debt in 3074) and that would alleviate congestion for at least a couple of weeks.
Your route sounds about as good as any other, just don't plan on going that way (West) during the morning rush. Luckily, I live in Orange County, but then we have the North/South rush hours issues, going to and from LA.
