I swear..Every darn time you think you are alone cruising some goofball is totally in your blind spot drooling over your left or right shoulder strategically positioned just out of sight. How many times do I go to change lanes and at the last second see him/her?

Just a reminder..always do both mirror and shoulder checks.:drive:

Worst are the ones that are in the blind spot and are not paying attention as they are too busy with the camera phone.....

Also make sure your mirrors are pointed out enough to see what's in your blind spots. To many people have their side mirror pointed straight back to see what's behind them, which is the same as what in the rearview mirror.

Your 3 mirrors should create a panoramic view of what behind your, so you never need to turn your head.

I thought you were going to talk about not being able to see the curbs when parking.

That is exactly how I have the mirrors set on any car I drive.

Need to make sure the front bumper of the car is visible on the right corner of the driver side mirror when the rear of the car is still on the left corner of the rear view mirror. This will ensure that the car is visible even when in the usual blind spot. By the time it passes the left corner of the driver side mirror, the car is next to you.

No need to look over your shoulder when set this way.

Exactly. It takes getting used to but once you do there are no blind spots.
It took me a while to convince my wife, but now she's got it and not jerking her head all around before she changes lanes.

I also have my mirrors set that way, but from drivers' ed (eons ago!), I can't get out of the habit of turning my head also. At least I don't turn my HANDS when I turn my HEAD...lol...Mike is a truck driver, he totally uses only mirrors, naturally. ~juli
(This is actually a GREAT thread: Placement of the outside mirrors! :2tu:)

Yah, but often they are driving their own car and can't be TAKEN for a ride - even though they offered. Once I didn't have time and she got REALLY mad.

She's yours! I met her at Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo, S. Dakota. About 23, really Hot and she had a really nice ... ummm ... smile until I said, "No." Then she acted about 5. All yours. :)

I'd be scared that she'd turn out like my ex-wife or Carry Underwood's (country singer) video where she's slammin' the guy's truck with a bat and slashing his tires. Nope, don't like that type at all. They are evil ...

Mirrors plus backup camera helps. Thinking about trying to mount some hidden to get the side views.

Well Ted! I didn't mean you had to marry her. Or even date her... atleast not very long, Lets say a weekend or two! As far as the Kerry Underwood thing, I keep my ride in a garage and when driven I never park it where I can't see it. If I can't do that I drive my daily (dispensible):D
