You can start by removing the dash plaque. I'll give ya $5 for it. :lmao:

That was pretty funny. :rolaugh: But I'd be willing to bet there are a few people here that would be in line to give a butt kickin' if that happened. :nono:

A butt kickin'?? Really? I had no idea people would get so upset about me overpaying for a dash plaque. I should've offered $1. :lmao:

Bernie, how did we miss this car? I would have bought it to resell it. I think the seller left some money on the table in this deal. He sure didn't do his friend any favors when he sold it for him, my two cents. I know a couple of Viper collectors looking for one of these for a long time and they also missed it.

I agree, the car was not properly advertised to its full potential. When I first saw the ad, I expected it to be an 02 ACR NON-Final Edition just as the description would lead you to believe since the only emphasis was on it being an ACR. However, when I read the "450 HP" in the ad (since the ACRs have 460), I realized that the individual selling it or the owner didn't really know what they had...and then I thought to myself "what if this is also a Final Edition!?". So looked at the pictures of the interior and saw the red stitching, and then I scrambled to find a picture showing the Final Edition plaque on the console. I immediately called the individual selling it, he nor the owner seemed aware of the 34 FE & ACR combination models out there. Even other people interested in the car didn't notice the Final Edition clues and potential buyers were treating it as an ACR only. So I guess it benefited me to know exactly what to look for in these cars. But again, I have been looking for one of these for several years now.

Nice to have an almost like new special edition of the last year of the GTS ! Now get out there and drive it ! (Well, that is, after changing all the fluids, and getting some new tires !)

Welcome to the FE club!:headbang::headbang::headbang:
Have you been to FEviper .com yet?

I sure have. I will get the information submitted the site as soon as I verify all the numbers myself when I pick it up this Friday. The seller said he thought this was FE car #154 (VIN 1B3ER69E72V10289), but I want to make sure of that before I pass on the information.

UPDATE:

I did find out a little more information on this vehicle and the story behind it. Very sad...

I hope this is not inappropriate to share, and if it is, please accept my apology and I will be more than understanding to edit or remove this post. But this is what I have found out through sources...

The car was owned by a very popular politician who is a Republican State Delegate (out of respect, I'm withholding his name at this time). He purchased the Viper new and apparently intended to hand the car down to his son one day. Unfortunately, his 23 year old son was recently killed on April 9th in a motorcycle accident when it struck a tractor trailer. I was told this Viper was only a reminder of his son's accident and he wanted the car gone asap.

If anyone else is familiar with this, feel free to pass along any information to me. PM me if needed. I have only communicated through the friend and I am sure that taking delivery of this vehicle will be somewhat difficult considering the circumstances. My heart goes out to the family and it really puts a damper on the transaction..... :(

I can only imagine how the previous owner feels, that's a sad sad story.
Best of luck with it, that is surely a keeper.

I am glad you got the car I know you have been diligently looking for one for a long time.

Yes I have been looking for a long time, which is why I am so excited about getting it. And I feel like I got into this car for A LOT less than what it is truly worth.

$55k for a one owner 750 mile Final Edition ACR, it feels like a once in a life-time oportunity to me. :money:

Plus, I wanted the perfect Viper, a limited production Gen II, and the Final Edition ACR was it (edit: perfect for me lol) . So this will be the "keeper" for me. Goes to show that it pays to hold off for exactly what we're looking for rather than to just settle. Now if I could just apply that to my relationships lol!! :dunno: ;) On the up side, my relationships should become more plentiful now with a car like this!! lol:famous:

welcome to the club, i to have one of the 34 fe acr's.
#189. that was a great buy. i bought mine 1 1/2 years ago with 3700 miles. paid a bit more but worth every penney.
i would not touch it, just drive and enjoy. i was thinking of buying another viper to mod out and have fun with. i would like to keep the fe as innocent and pure as possible(lol) keeping resale value in mind if it ever had to come to it:omg:

Spoke with Carlton earlier. Picking up his Viper was more uneventful than mine, which is a good thing. The only thing is the stripes are silver. Not a big deal, right?

Are you still here!!?? :hit: :D

The drive up to Maryland went pretty well and the car was exactly as described. I just got back to Tennessee with the car and hopefully I can get some pictures posted soon. They're calling for rain until Friday/Saturday, so it may be a few days before I can get them taken and posted.

The only issue I had was a flat tire on my trailer on the way back. Very strange that happened just after I got off the phone with CYAFORD... :dunno: lol

I am VERY pleased with the car. Everywhere I stopped (fuel, food, trailer repair, etc), I was surrounded by a crowd of people asking me about it, taking pictures, and showing their kids - as to be expected from a Viper, but when I had my red RT/10, it drew less than half the attention this one gets. Seems people are really drawn toward the racing striped coupes. :2tu: There were so many people coming into the shop while I was getting the tire replaced, the mechanic said "I've got to hurry and get you out of here before these people start calling their friends" lol. :rolaugh:

Thanks Bernie. :2tu: I can't tell you how many times I wanted to call you back on the one you have for sale. That is an AWESOME FE ACR you have...what a beast!!

Yeah, I think I got into the car at a VERY reasonable price and I am VERY excited about it to say the least! :)

Congrats, you stole that ACR. This is a great time to buy a car. Wish I had more room in my garage. :2tu:

I'll post pics once work settles down. The car is spotless! Even the wheel well area looked brand new. As mentioned previously, a total steal.

I felt slightly bad when he scraped both the front end and side sills. Oh well, new paint will only increase the resale.

As with many cases, pictures fail to do the car justice. It looks like it literally just came off the line, and he hasn't even had time to give it a good detail!! :2tu:
