It sure seems that way. They are also much longer than I'm used to, and another friend who also got an L says it is too big for him also.

Yup, I normally wear a large but if I could buy one all over again I would have definitely gotten a Medium, which was all sold out when I bought mine. The shirt is much longer than I would have expected both in the sleeves and the overall length. Knowing this now, I would not have purchased the large. Probably also the reason I hardly ever wear mine.
