I dropped my keys this morning and the plastic above sneaky pete broke into 3 pieces. I was wondering if theres a way to fix the key (buy the plastic part)? The key itself is still intact, just the plastic is broken. Any ideas?

yea, i stepped on mine once when detailing the car. That plastic is very hard/brittle. Luckily i had 4 more so i just retired that one to the wife's purse:)

You cant just buy the top part and crazygluing it would be asking for a lost key IMO.
If you dont have a backup just go up to the hardwarestore and have them make you one with the standard dodge blank to put on your keychain, then try to find someone that will sell you a sneakypete blank for a reasonable price

Yo Steve, just buy a new one... Not sure if those came with the car or not when you bought it last year, but I bought 2 sets off eBay. They normally go for around $100, but on eBay I paid $25. That's a ton of money for a key, but then again everything for the Viper seems to cost a lot. :smirk:

I believe I have one uncut in my desk, I'm out at a track event we are sponsoring this weekend, but will be back Monday if you need one.

As others have said, you can get a blank solid metal one at any key store. It's a generic Dodge one, and the tab is metal with a hole like every other key in the world, so you can put on your keychain. I bought one for immediate use when I broke mine and now use it as an emergency spare. Then, get yourself to ebay and buy a blank key with the plastic Sneaky Pete and have the shop grind you a new one. I bought a "black metal" one but the black wore off pronto so forget about that.

right, i'd rather have a new blank rather than a broken Pete with a hole drilled though his head.:crazy2:

also, this key:

or the one with the chrysler logo can be had on ebay for under 10bucks shipped if you want something fancier than the standard blank for cheap:

(this is the one your hardware stor will have)

i think the newer style viper one is also the same blank and can be had for 20shipped on ebay.

(could anyone verify that the key didnt change from Gen2 to Gen3?)
