Thanks Arron, same here....Took my Viper out the other morning to take to work..clear, dry, 11 degrees out. The heat was blowing strong in the car very comfortable , engine loved the cool air but the tires would not hold at any speed....like I was on a sheet of ice..turned around dropped it off and took my truck......I know everyone warned about the cold weather and our cars just had to try it for myself.:nono:

Hey guys... Hope you are staying warm.

This was posted on the C&C Yahoo site... Anyone thinking of going ? I saw a show on this place on Velocity and it looked pretty cool. RSVP by today...

Folks,

We're checking interest level in a trip to the Simeone Automotive Museum in
Philadelphia on Saturday Feb 23. This museum is a fantastic collection of race
cars. See the website: http://simeonemuseum.org/

On the 4th Saturday of each month, the museum has "Demonstration Days" (click on
"Demonstration Days" on the website for more info) where Dr. Simeone discusses a
select group of cars. On Feb 23, he will be discussing the design similarities
between the 1964 Shelby Daytona Cobra Coupe (the museum owns 1 of the 6 ever
made) and the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. Typically, they then take the cars out for
a drive in the back parking lot, but I am not certain this part will happen
given it is winter and they are advertising this as an indoor event. Regardless,
seeing these cars would be a rare treat.

Our logistics would be the following: We would charter a bus (or buses,
depending on interest level). The plan would be to leave at 8 am (from an as
yet undetermined location) and get there at 10 am or so. We would tour the
museum on our own until perhaps 11:15 (we do have members with connections to
Dr. Simeone so maybe we could arrange for a guided tour from him -- no promises
there). Then we would have an arranged casual lunch in one of their private
rooms. At 12 noon, the demonstration begins and then we would plan to leave by
1:30, arriving back at our starting point by 4 pm. We would expect the cost for
this per person would be about $75 and would include the bus fare, entrance to
the museum, and lunch (it could be less depending on the number of people who
go).

For now, what I need from you is an indication of interest if you would like to
come and the number of people in your party. You do not need to tell me if you
cannot come. I repeat -- you do not need to tell me if you cannot come. You
will not yet be committed to come, but after we get the indications, we will
start planning and will ask people to commit perhaps a week in advance of the
event. Please reply to me at kirk.meighan@... by Friday Jan 25 if you
have interest and the number of people in your party.

Thanks,

Wish I could go as that would really be awesome, but doesn't look like I'll be able to make it as I'm going to be on a little break from reality (and the bitter cold) and will be going to our place in South Beach Miami for a couple weeks, which includes that weekend unfortunately. Looking forward to taking my 1 year old son on the beach for the first time especially since he just took his very first steps this past Monday!. And I have a buddy down there who is in my building (he's from NY) who just took delivery of the new McLaren 12C convertible down there as his new Winter toy for Miami, and I'm dying to take that thing out for a drive with him!!! Also got invited by a client of mine who lives down there, and is a fellow Viper owner, to go racing with him at Sebring Raceway one day I'm down there in one of his race cars. So in a way, I'll be experiencing my own version of the car museum.

If you guys end up going on that C&C outing, take some pics and post them on here! Would love to see what I'm unfortunately missing out on.

C&C meet in chatham tommorow. I've got a house warming party to go to tonight, but if I don't get in too late I'll drag my butt out of bed. I was planning on trying to run the car tommorow anyway.

We have company coming over around lunchtime tomorrow, so I'm under strict orders to help clean up and prepare the house before they get here. That doesn't mean I won't be firing her up for the first time in 2 months and giving rides to some friends..... Just hoping the snow is all gone, streets are dry, and all salt is gone by tomorrow afternoon or it may be staying in the garage another couple of weeks.

I'm unfortunately out as well...in the process of selling my home and moving (locally) plus my car is still at Tators because a. I keep buying more mods for him to put on and b. it keeps snowing. Hope to have the car back in about 2 weeks and looking forward to seeing everyone again, good weather needs to get here soon.
