I have been considering a camshaft change in my viper. I was wondering if it was a difficult task for a DIY install? Ive changed many cams in Chevys through the years and was wondering if anyone could fill me in on the basics? For instance, does the intake need to be removed?
I currently have ported heads and intake, a custom cam but I dont know what size it is, T&D rockers, 1 3/4 headers, Hi flow cats and 3 inch pipes, Aluminum flywheel and carbon fiber airbox. Ive put 507hp and 525tq before the VEC1 and 526hp and 545tq at the wheels after the VEC1. I want to be around 550 -580 at the wheels and I want the motor to be N/A.
So, that being said, what type and size of cam would be acceptable? I am not interested in haveing a car thats not drivable.
