Yes, quite often but it depends on how I feel. Today I feel particularly good so I probably won't swear. But that may change. We'll see. Oh ****, I just stubbed my toe. Oops, I swore. :omg:

CitySnake said:
In your boorish and inflexible quest to insure that you are always completely correct, you miss so much of the nuance and subtlety of what goes on around you. So many of your facts are based on confrontational situations. Some (as evidenced right here in this thread) are uncomfortable with making their sincere feelings known in such a situation. If you ever took a moment to even consider such intricacy (something that's far more obvious to those not inclined to coerce for self benefit), you might notice. But that's not your style of leadership

Scott, I post the facts or I don't post at all. I'm not always correct nor do I pretend to be. As in this particular topic, many of my facts are based on interactions with our members both within our region and at a national level. First-hand experience not 2nd, 3rd, 4th hand information.

They're also based on my work/support at the national level being an active contributor on the national board and web site committee. The only confrontation I engage in is when someone with an agenda (a documented one at that) spreads utter b.s. to fan political flames nobody wants in order to fulfill some pathetic agenda. In that case, yes, I will respond accordingly.

The problem for you Scott is that you open these doors, most of time based on lies, and when confronted with fact you find an excuse to try and save face. So here we are once again whereby you were presented with factual information in response to your accusations. Rather than expanding upon your concerns with supporting details, you flee or try to create a diversion to cover up a graceful exit.

I'm willing to entertain opening a separate thread here in our forum for you to air out your concerns. Now, on the other forum you accused our club of not supporting Tator among other b.s. you posted abroad including our Web Site Committee and Moderator forums. Bullying it seems, can take many forms some more hidden than others.

Re: Car Show & BBQ Beach Party: May 15

You just don't get it, do you?

Here's an intriguing example. You're in a crowded china shop and accidentally knock over a showcase of china. As it falls to the floor the owner of the shop runs over and looks down at the shattered porcelain in horror. Of course, all the patrons in the store take notice of the fracturing clamor and you turn to speak with the proprietor. You ask "did I do that? I'm so ******* sorry" (I removed the foul language of course). She says it's fine and that it happens all the time. You offer to pay for the damage, while the quickly gathering group of store shoppers is standing all around the mess. She insists that it's not necessary since she doesn't want to make a scene and she knows that it simply would not be good business to force customers to pay for honest mistakes. And so, you go on your merry way feeling no guilt having deduced the "fact" that you did all that you could do to make amends for your accidental actions.

No doubt nuance is never lost on you.

From CitySnake:

"Some historical venting:

Used to have 140 vipers show up at Chuck's dealership for a great day party. Chuck used to pay for a live band, food and a makor BBQ. Great fun with more vipers in attendance than any time other than a VOI. We used to give him a stipend for the event .. a few hundred dollars to help offest some of his costs (never could pay him back for closing down his shop for 2 days of party cleanup/setup prep. It was one of the 2 biggest events that we ran so it was a wise choice to spend some of the club funds since it appealed to the most members.

When Chuck came to me and explaind that he just couldn't afford the overall cost and down time anymore, I explored alternatives and came up with "TatorToga" at the Saratoga Auto Museum. The idea was to help involve even more members from the NY/CT (especially the western area which is typically overlooked), NE and Ontario regions as it was in the midst of all these regions. First few years, we had an outrageous turnout which soon became a 2 day affair.

Nowadays, the NY/CT "family"
You must be registered for see images
are not so supportive of Chuck, so his event is comparatively unsupported. Far more compelling is how the "family" sets up another event directly competing with his that's a bit more convenient to the "family".

What a bunch of passive aggressive bull****."

It's seems that hypocrisy surrounds you...oh the swearing. So I ask once again, expand upon your accusations that the NY/CT club is not so supportive of Chuck. Demonstrate some leadership and address/detail your accusation. Instead of dropping little turds all over the place let's just compile them here and give you the opportunity to explain yourself.

The "ONLY" thing I'm going to say on this issue is-If I would have done for other viper techs in our region what I did for Chuck each and everyone of you would have told me that what I was doing was not right so if Chuck and only Chuck ask me to post how I tried to help him over the years "I WILL"

Re: Car Show & BBQ Beach Party: May 15

And here we go again ! R U Guys kidding me ????? I started reading this and was very proud of the first dozen or so posts and very proud, Tony, of the way you explained the way dates conflict, what happens, and how we deal with it, but then all Hell broke loose and frankly Scott, I always liked you, we always had some good laughs, but you should be ashamed of yourself. You just had to set this on a bad path, just couldn't leave well enough alone.
The way I see it, Scott, you and everyone else who sees fit to continue this embarrassing behavior is the reason why I could cancel my membership tomorrow and not loose a night’s sleep, except that I enjoy the magazine. To be associated with such a bunch of ungrateful, baby, pansy-ass children who start up petty BS over the gatherings of a DAMN CAR CLUB, is childish to the extreme. My GOD, is this an adult’s club or a teenage cub scout group ??
I have news for you, this has nothing to do whatsoever about Adrian’s leadership, which in my opinion has been respectful, honorable, PROFITABLE, and here is a new one .... FUN !!!!!! The guy bends over backwards on his own time for whomever wants to do whatever. He doesn’t get paid, and deserves something, I’ll tell you that! If he gets any preferential treatment from any of the group members, it is only because it has been a pleasure having him as a president and he is appreciated as an easy going, hard working President. Joe O was a disaster, Scott, you were good, but Adrian just lends a different style to the club that steps up the stress-free fun factor a little more. If you ask me, he should be the VCA President ! How do you like that ??

I really hope this post doesn’t get deleted, at least until every single member reads it, because I have a very bad feeling that NY is not the only region that goes through this sh*t. I deal with Children every day that can’t walk, and wont ever ride a bike, let alone drive a Viper. And know what? They r happy !!!! And, they don’t argue half as much as some of you guys about something so stupid. Hell, they actually smile and are appreciative of every day they wake up and their feet can hit the floor.

And here is another News flash, I’m not going to either event ! Why ?? Becasue I have another life ! YEP ! I actually have a life outside of the Viper Club. I sure as hell don’t feel like driving all the way up to Saratoga for an event I already went to a couple of times, and that is no reflexion on Chuck. I always went to his BBQ at Tator’s becasue it was 20 min from my house, convenient, and was good for a few laughs. And I’m not going out to LI for a BBQ when Suunday is the only day I have to do work around my house and spend time with my family! Yeah, sorry guys, I cut my own grass, and fix my own house. My pockets are not that deep to have others do things for me. The one event I’m looking forward to is in June out at NJMS. And to top it off, this weekend is supposed to be a sh*t weekend anyway.

Support CHUCK ??? How dare anyone even bring this up as a valid argument ! Just becasue someone might feel like doing something else out of convenience, or whatever other reason under the Sun, this means that Chuck is not supported ???? Give me a F-ING break you lame, baby, weaklings. I support Chuck by going to him when I have business to give him. I think he’s a good guy, and deserves support. But if I don’t feel like going to his event, becasue I feel like going somewhere else, that is my business. And all the more power to Adrian for offering other events to choose from. What r we, in some socialist society where we have to go to one place like a buch of robots ???

I just spent an hour writing this responce for a board that probably won’t appreciate it anyway and to some of you guys who will go right out and embarrass yourselves again tomorrow with petty complaints and BS, while my daughter who just got home from college is laying out by the pool in the sun. I must have rocks in my head, becasue that’s where I’m going now.

I will conclude with the following:

1. Chuck is a great Viper Tech, as I am sure many others are. Chuck deserves support if not for anything else because of the way he sits on the phone and speaks to members and helps us all out. JonB falls into the same category, and I'll mention another sore spot. I got a great deal from the VPA on tires ! OHHH, shoot me ... I said VPA !! I guess now I really should be banned.

2. Adrian is a great President, a great leader, a good guy, and works his ass off for this club. He should be the VCA President !

3. Tony, good for you speaking up !!

4. Scott, think again about what is worth bitchin about, and yes, a 3+ hour drive is a big deal, especially when gas is 4.50 a gallon ! For that matter, dealing with NYC Bridge crossings is also a pain in the ass, so bottom line, WHO CARES ????

Jesus God almighty, I need to get to the gym clear my head. Yeah, I’ll go outside, hang with my daughter, do some other stuff, and take my Viper to the gym. The rest of you can keep up this stupid argument that never should have been started with such a uselesss opinion.

PS, notice I didn't spend time with beefing up my post with caps, bold, ***** faces, and other graphics. It's not worth it ! Have a nice day.

Re: Car Show & BBQ Beach Party: May 15

Wow... I was preparing something of my own but Andrew really took off :omg:

The thing that amazes me beyond comprehension is that Scott and Adrian actually were good friends WITHOUT much if any bickering once (as far as could be judged from the topics in this section)! It is one thing to have totally different opinions but do you guys have to voice them in such an agressive and non-constructive way??
Let me make it clear that I will NOT take sides but you guys need a mediator because this is not good. I originally got interested in this particular VCA region when you two were still on GOOD speaking terms!

Re: Car Show & BBQ Beach Party: May 15

Well said Andrew.
It's no secret where my feelings lie, I have nothing but respect and admiration for the job Adrian and the other officers do for the club both personally and as club leaders. I know how hard he works at a pretty darn thankless job, putting together events and logistics. And I have great respect for Chuck, and have supported him NOT with event appearences but DOLLARS. Many many thousands of dollars going back to 2004.

But bringing up this Tator Toga event as indicative of support for Chuck is so ridiculous that it can't be left unchallanged. Besides the obvious 4 hour trip from Long Island up and the same back in weekend traffic IMO this is really just a contrived event using Chucks name. Which I have no problem with, I think it's good to try to get upstaters and downstaters together should they choose to. Great. Using this as a barometer to indicate NY/CT support for Chuck is a cheap potshot by an increasingly bitter person. Sad really. The lack of enthusiasm also has to do with the fact IMO it frankly has zero to do with Tators Dodge. Yes, Tators Dodge. The reality is, it's a long ride to a car exhibition that Chuck goes to. Where is the tie in to Chuck? Hell, the fall event by Chucks at Pound Ridge is much more relevent to show support for Chuck.

Now if you want to see an event that would be HUGE, and draw the biggest crowd of Vipers on the east coast, put the damn event BACK where it belongs. Hell, charge everybody fifty bucks a head, it doesn't matter. Tators may not be Tators Dodge legally anymore but it still is to everyone around here. The whole setting, history and tradition can not be replicated anywhere else. Give the benefits to Chuck for his time and effort. BUT it has to be back at Tators. Centrally located for everybody in the northeast area, Viper owners would come from nearby states to be at this event. It would once again be the premier event of the season, a multi club attraction. I know Chuck has resisted the notion but something must be able to be done to make it worth it to Chuck financially and logistically to make it happen..

Steve/Chuck, I told you guys already but let me repeat: it's strong enough for a man but made for a woman. Not that there's anything wrong with that but I don't swing that way. I know I'm an attractive yellow Viper owner but you'll have to look elsewhere for the love and kisses you both seek. :D

My $.02 and I'm not taking sides, but as a member that wants to do both events I think it ***** that the BBQ is the same date as Tattortoga! It's great that our chapter has gown so big that we can have support for multiple events, but what about the members like me who want to have their cake and eat it too :eater:

The NY/CT officers have tried unsuccessfully to re-start the original Tator Toga gathering. The NY/CT club was, and is willing, to put up a substantial amount of money (and within reason) to help Chuck host Tator Toga at his shop. Heck, I'm willing to donate & cook the food for it (literally labor, food and grills).

Unfortunately, Chuck has been too busy to prep his property for such an event and, understandably, has been dealing with the loss of his Dodge dealer status among other issues over the last few years. His heart is in making Tator's Garage successful and getting through a difficult economy, at the very least. <- This and he still makes time to help us. :2tu:

As such, even at this past NY/CT officer's meeting, as much as Chuck wants to host his famous BBQ, it's not possible this year. We're holding out hope for next year and when Chuck is ready we'll be there.

Awesome, glad you guys tried to make it work!! By far the best car event on the planet and worth keeping the tradition alive:usa:

Re: Car Show & BBQ Beach Party: May 15

Wow, I just got out of some meetings and saw this thread. I want to go back to the meetings.

Here is my opinion which clearly doesn't matter but it is what it is.

First I can't go anywhere because I have a christening but if I didn't I wouldn't go to Tatortoga.

It has nothing to do with my love of Chuck, he has serviced my 2 Vipers for 5 years. I bought my first Viper from him and I would have bought the second from him if I could.

Saratoga is just too far for me, especially considering I would have to come home in Sunday traffic. For some people that's not a big deal but it is for me. I try to balance my love of the car club with my other life (I'm Batman)

So if there was only one event scheduled this weekend, (and I was free) I would stay local. I would probably call some of the guys and see if they wanted to do something. Tatortoga is just not an option. How is putting up two events in two disparate areas of a VERY large region a problem?

I have no dislike for one area of the club over another. I would LOVE to meet some of the upper NY group some day but I just don't see myself driving much further than Chucks. That's just me.

Guys this is a car club, I work hard 5 days a week, and in the summer time I put in 80-90 hours a week Mon-Friday. The club is my escape. I like to drive my car. See guys I've become friends with over the years and meet new people. There just seems to be this animosity between two groups that doesn't have to be there.

I don't get involved in the politics and I never will, I lead Mon-Fri. On the weekends, I just want to drive.

***/Kettle.

No point there. So you take umbrage that we're potentially BOTH wrong? Jesus. People tend not to get in the face of a bully. It's intimidating to most. So of course you hear what you want to hear! It's behind the scenes that folks make excuses for you.

I'm actually pleased you cut and paste. At least we're having some discussion out in the open.

But why didn't you also cut and paste my other comments about how fond I am of any communication with you? ;)

Andrew...interesting points...but, better than that, funny as sh-t!!!!

100% agree with family and house comments...I cut my own lawn and work on my own house AND, I have two great kids and a super wife and that is where I spend most of my weekend time....the reason I am not seen at many events. But, I love my Viper and am happy to be a member of the VCA.

I hope all enjoy their respective events, whichever they choose to attend.

Nice!:D

Rain seems to be holding off today, maybe with a little luck, tomorrow will only be cloudy and rain in the evening. Hope it holds off so the BBQ and Saratoga Show go off without any problems! Never trust the weatherman.....they get paid to be wrong!
