My '08 Coupe arrives next week and I would like to add a carbon fiber or carbon fiber-look dash console (shifter/radio area).

It will most likely be faux carbon fiber.

Any ideas what to get and where to get it?

Thanks for your ideas!

That is the Mopar dash. It's the same one I had in my 2006:

i dont know that i have heard anything about a $100 trade in, those are just stick on panels that go over your existing dash(at least thats how the Mopar kit works)

YOU got taken because the mopar kit is NOT stick on panels.....

and

if you go to this thread and check out post number 34 you will see a reputable vendor offering $100 for trade in of the OE console

first off I did NOT get taken, because i didn't buy any CF trim at all ! the original mopar kits were a applique(stick on with 3M tape), maybe they now change the entire panel set out.

Why is it that nobody makes a REAL carbon fiber replacement console?

i like the look, i just do not want sticky gunk all over the place. especially teh engine compartment, with those chrome overlays.....although, i admit io havent seen them in person, nor tried them, it just seems cheap, kinda like lee press on nails.

i am guessing if thats the case, you will find someone to make it for you. I would imagine that the two pieces as one-offs would be in the thousands of $'s (1 or 2 at least) to make.

They are "hydrographic" appliques according to Mopar but they do come on an entirely new console bezel; you do not apply anything to your existing dash console.

This looks great. I have a message into Jon at Partsrack on this and several other items.

Thanks!

I dont think the Mopar kit was ever stick on. I bought mine when they first came out in all black and it was the two piece console painted.

Had my OEM console wrapped by Rich at ImpulseCarbon. I understand he advertises on this site and offers VCA members a discount. It looks awesome.

Additional images in my gallery.

Mike at xvipers.com does Carbon Fiber work also. You can give him a try as well. The real carbon fiber looks great.
