Chuck,

Yes, we want to keep the prices as low and competitive as possible, carbon fiber is pretty expensive when we are dealing with low production volumes.

Anthony,

I will get a close up photo up by this weekend that will show the weave and cut detail on the sheets, we are working on finalizing the cutting shape of the side that mounts to the underside of the sill so that we can cut the manufacturing time.

At this time we are working on designing a front splitter and a rear diffuser design along with some other secret projects that might take some time to develop because of the molding required.

Rohn,

Private e-mail me with your information and I will work through Ted to get this out to you.

Jrkermode,

Not really rectagular, as I said above, carbon composites are not inexpensive in low volumes especially in the sizes that we are ordering.

These may look just like the GT2/GTS-R pieces (I've never seen a pic of the others this good), but IMO they would look even better if they were a little more rounded on each end rather than squared off so much. Just a thought.

Hi everyone,

A couple of friends and I are working on developing new parts for the Viper and one of our first products that we just finished is a carbon fiber sill plate that is modeled after the ones used on the racing version of the Viper. Over the weekend, we made our first set and mounted it on my 2000 GTS. Attached are two photos showing the plate. I am currently working with Ted May (Valaya Racing) on selling these (and any future products).

These will be selling for $650/set including stainless steel hardware to mount them. You will need to drill holes to your side sill covers to mount them. Please let me know who is interested in getting these or has questions about these.

Wolf,

Thanks for your response. One tip, for installation you should try to use the same mounting holes as the stock side sills - many Viper owners won't want to drill additional holes.

Personally - drilling a couple of holes is no big deal.

I have a replica (in ABS plastic) of a GT2 front splitter that I could loan you as a template if needed.

Rdustman,

The purpose of the plate is to better sealoff the airflow to the bottom of the car. It improves the efficiency of a rear diffuser, if one is installed on a car.

Ronnie,

Thanks for the feedback, we see what we can do on the future, we might end up chamfering it.

Jon, you forgot (5): They look really cool and racecar like.

Wolf, keep us posted on these; I think you'll sell quite a few of them.

Hey SmokinV10,

Yes, the splitter is in the works, we will be doing a racing version (too low for street use) in the next few months, the street version is in the plans soon.

Nice meeting you last time at the shop.

oK, so what is their purpose?

Called Aero Side Splitters, they achieve 4 things:

1) Forces air passing under the car to exit farther and faster. This minimizes lift.
2) Stops air flowing up the doors and into the rear wheel wells, where it otherwise creates lift and drag.
3) Acts as stone-guards that keep front tire debris from sandblasting sills and doors
4) Ankle-biters, keep you and passengers from kicking your sills !

Everyone,

As requested, here are some photos showing what the sill plate looks like and also closeup photos of what the weave looks like.

Here is the whole plate against a wall, the cutouts on top are for your lift point on the rear of your car, the two notches in the center are for your sill's existing recessed mounted points.

Here is one showing the weave details on the plate.

Here are better photos, taken outside, of it mounted on the car.

Here is the edge detail of the sill.

The plate is not drilled for mounted, we have decided to drill only if asked for (no cost), otherwise they will be undrilled. The design of the notches will be changing to rounded holes in the next batch.

Here is the new updated design:

Vanquish,

You have a PM.

Bigfoot,

I haven't weighed my version versus the aluminum ones yet (there are many different companies making the aluminum ones) but I have compared them with the ones that were at my tech's shop and mine was lighter than the ones that I lifted.

Vipermad,

Thanks again for contacting me, give me a call anytime.

Everyone,

Again, I must appologize for not being on the forum for the past few days, I haven't been in my office since Friday afternoon.

Viper Baz,

Sorry, I don't recommend putting these on side exhaust cars, the heat from the exhaust could cause problems. The front spoiler of a 94 RT is different shaped than the 96 onward cars, I will have to make a different shaped one for your car if you want one. Let me know.

Thanks,
Kevin
