I directed them downward and toward the rear of the car. They stuck out about 6 inches from the side of the car. I only did the driver's side since that was the side of the track that the sound meter was on. We went to a hardware store and purchased some flat sheets of tin. We cut them with tin snips and rolled them by hand, securing them around the circumference of the existing exhaust tip with hose clamps. A few times during practice they blew off and we had to retrieve and re-secure them. Ultimately, mine held for the entire duration of a 2-hour enduro. Not very pretty, but they got the job done.
