Check engine light on 93 Viper

My mechanic can't seem to figure out what's causing a check engine light. Clean start, no misfire, strong engine. I do have a burn mark by the driver side catalytic converter. Possibly that?

Read the "blinky-code" in the message center. Cycle the key as above, then count flashes for first and second digit. If there are multiple codes, there's a short pause between blink sets. When you get to the end, it blinks an end sequence with no second digit pause. It's slow, but it works and was discontinued in about 1998.

As above...but, you may need to do it a couple of times to get the feel of the pauses. The end of the sequence translates to 55.

If in doubt, call someone in this thread.

Scanners are cheap, if you don't have one, invest in one.

Actron and I think Innova had an inexpensive scan tool on the market that had cables to read both OBD I and II vehicles.
