CHROME ENGINE PARTS?

I'M DOING SOME ENGINE WORK AND DECIDED TO DO SOME APPEARANCE ENHANCEMENTS. HAS ANYONE TRIED CHROMING THE COOLANT RETURN AND BYPASS PIPES? THESE ARE THE TUBES THAT RUN ABOVE THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND CONNECT TO THE RADIATOR HOSES. MINE ARE REAL CLOSE TO MY SVSI HEADERS THAT GET VERY HOT. I WAS WONDERING IF THE CHROME WOULD TAKE THE HEAT? THANKS.

Don't listen to that voice,the pipes are steel so
choices are,chrome,nickle or powder coat any one
will be ok

Remember, chrome holds heat in. Right next to your headers, and holding coolant, somehow that doesnt seem like a good idea. But, you are right, it sure would look nice.

I am having some real nice chrome work done, real pricy but will attract alot of attention! DLM SUPERCHARGER!!!!!!!

Yeah...chrome holds the heat in and it would be a bad idea i think....it would look good though.

Mine are chromed, it does look nice and I have not had any problems with heat.
It was done before I bought the car in 1998 and is holding up really well.

I really like your engine appearance! Can you give any sources of the SS braided steel hoses and connectors? Also I like the ruby red valve cover bolts you have. Where did those come from? Great looking job.

Unfortunately I do not have any part #s on any of the engine dress up stuff. It was already done when I bought the car.
Might want to talk to Doug Levin, because I know he knew the previous owner and also stated in another post I saw on the board that the parts under the hood looks like some of his.
Maybe he can chime in here and we can all be informed, because I get that question a lot and am not able to be of any help.
