CHROME Side Sills

Does anyone know if these side sills are chrome or just painted? I think i have seen this on others, but wasnt sure if it was something new. Does it hold-up and has anyone seen it in person? What do you think about the look?

Side sills are aluminum.

In the photo, the paint has been removed and the sills buffed to the shine you see.

Have had a few friends do this.

Looks very good!

I prefer the stock black, but with the car like this you are SURE there is no pitting or oxidation comming through, and no dents/filler.

It is certainly different, i prefer the body painted side pipes but to each his own.
