No sorry, I didn't think there would be many modded SRT 10's so if there are Major mods they need to move up to a Mod Level Class.

Uh, David, maybe we should trade out my admission to the event for my writing you a real waiver of liability. Just a suggestion. :)

Roof, The way I read that is all day Friday and as long as needed Saturday. Is there a regular test and tune Friday night ? Hmmm mod 2 or mod 3......is there a handicap for a bone stock engine with bolt ons :D

Previous events' discussions came to the conclusion that the "stock gen1/2" category should, in addition to tubes & filters, include cat-back exhaust mods, since they are so common - not sure how that would work with your Mod 1 class though.

Doc,Congrats for getting THE RACE together. One thing,Viper owners mainly want to see viper running fast ET's.Your gonna limit the guys showing up by running the event like a bracket race(single elim.).How bout DOUBLE ELIMINATION?Bracket races are for bracket cars setup, and thats a blast.Viper owners don't drag race for money, make it worth the trip for all!Scott

Re: Class Break Down for V-10 Power Nationals(Registration Form) Drag Racing

So is this a single elimination event?

I don't mind paying the $$$, but I want to be able to run my car as much as I want. Not sitting in the stands after my first pass watching others.

Like Scott said some of us are driving a few miles to get there and I am not a professional racer that can cut good reaction times consistently. :usa:

I agree with the previous two guys. Many of us are not professional racers and would like as much time on the track as possible.

I am not a professional racer either! You will have all day friday for test and tune and 4-sure. Im not certain how to make the event a double elimination unless we make it a 2 day race event. I will try and make this happen. I need to get some advice on how to format a Double elimination.

Our Goal is for everyone to have a great time Racing. I know it would **** to have to leave after your first race, so I will see what we can do.

Hello Roof,

Congrats on your taking the bull by the horns with this event. I'm gonna throw my $ 0.02 in for your consideration.

In my opinion(not just because of my car) it is unfair to have multi power adder cars running against single power adder cars just because of the possibility of a better track/driver or a previous 9 second pass..ie; there are several 800+ hp cars out there (including yours) who have not ran a 9 yet, but certainly have enough hp to do it based upon our testing and the amount of power required to run a 9 second time. To put a single nitrous car against strokers with dual direct port systems and supercharger/turbocharger/nitrous combos together just ain't right.

Take a look at that again as I am considering coming to and associate sponsoring this event.

Again, thanks in advance for your hard work.

Tom

Why don't you run a fun class which would have no elimiations but be run like bracket racing. With PRIZES for best reaction time. Most wins (closest to you ET) and Most improved through out the event. This way everyone is guarenteed lots of runs regardless of driving skill. All cars could run in this class regardless of the mods. JUST lots of FUN with mild competions for trophies. I have found this to be the most fun for all.

Thanks

I am kinda with Tom BTR (I think) Just because a car has run nines should not move it to another class. Any change could make it a 10.00 car instead of the prior 9.90 car. On the other hand....for example...my car. Less than 600 rwhp and if I spray a 75 shot of nitrous....I am now up to 650 at the rear and I am in the 9 second/900hp class. Are all classes auto or six speed or do auto cars have to run unlimited....maybe I will stick my racing glide in.
Tom, Maybe I mistook the last part of your post....are you saying if the rules don't change you will not show ? I must be reading it wrong because I believe you would do battle with anyone/car.
There could be test and tune runs in between class runs on Saturday and after eliminations. This ain't bracket racing and you do not get a second chance in heads up racing. Double elimination is for ball tourneys and bowling.
Everybody give suggestions and input but what it boils down to is any one set of rules isn't going to favor and please everyone. We will have to except what the rules committee comes up with and go race and have fun. Put me in the 8.0 class, I don't care lets just get these cars together and race. I wish everyone would wear name tags with screen names and also have it on their car. To me it will be as much of a social event to meet some of you. After the voi drags I heard a lot of people saying they would have liked to meet so and so but didn't know who they were.

And even more importantly... what happens when you have a 10 second car with a 12 second driver? Does that mean I can run in the "stock" class?

Why do you continue to penalize MOD I cars with street radials!! These cars are MODIDIED to go faster than stock, they need traction. This is the same as Bowling Green, you take away traction and slow down a second. We didn't add gears and headers to tip toe thru the tulipts!
I thought this was an event to showcase performance, if so you won't be seeing any with modified cars on street tires.
Give use a chance to show what "bolt on" modified cars can do. If we choose to run M/Ts we run with the dental supply and hair dryer cars. Is that a race?

Tom,

You think you have it bad, what about stock RT10s having to run against ALL other RT10s including supercharged?? :)

Hey Dr Roof, thanks for all the work and I am sure a whole lot more to go, so thanks. :)

SRT 10 Class is for New Vipers.

The RT 10 will run with the GEN 1 Cars. Everyone will Run in the proper class. If you are stock you will not run a supercharged Viper.

I am working on final set of rules please be patient.

HA HA no flame taken REALLY.

Actually I was the one that was thinking RT10 not used to seeing SRT10 so I was mistaken.

And then you said you didn't think there needed to be a seperate class for stock and modded SRTs I was thinking RT10s and WHAT ????????

Ok but no group hug. :)

Thanks Daviv for creating such an event. I look forward to attending.

I would be interested in a "fun run" class like Mike said earlier or something equivilent if possible.

If not I guess I will have to get out there and smoke Tony. (in my dreams)
