Just curious what the audiences' thoughts are on the collectibility value and any other thoughts on the 2001 Daytona edition Viper.

Thanks.

You'll be better off with a 1998 GT-2 or 2002 Final Edition (depending on your budget right now).

Couldn't have said it better. Anything from the factory will be 10x's more collectible.

Thanks for the replies, keep'em coming. I would have thought that something this rare (9 produced I believe) would attract a few more interests from Viper owners or possible collectors. Pardon my ignorance but wouldnt the Daytona edition be similar to say a Yanko or something along those lines. Needless to say, the car is striking, attract attention, and be one of a very few to be seen.

Anyway, thanks for the replies. I look forward to reading more.

probably never. You could re-create one using autoform stuff now and what wouldn't you have? a dash plaque, whopp de doo. Go for a 98 GT-2 or even a rare color combo car.

The daytona edition cars didn't even have all the correct decals, the fact that it didn't come from the factory that way makes it even less appealing. IMHO it does nothing for the appeal of the car.

I agree with all of the feedback above. If the car would have been an EXACT recreation I might feel differently, but it was inaccurate in too many ways to even appeal to me.

I love the way the daytona looks!
and think it would be worth slightly more than a stock GTS due to the mods.
(wing and fascia)
but not worth as much as a GT2

Love the Daytona!!
only thing i would trade my yellow fever for!

I thought 24 Daytona Vipers were made. There's still a banner on this site that ads for them. Says 24 will be made. I think that the Daytona will only attract interests, not collectors, if you get my drift.

Compared to a Yenko? NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! The Daytona car is just some stickers and looks... yippee, skippie... In 30 years it could be replicated VERY easily by HS kids. Yenko dropped a beast of an engine into the Camero and produced HP numbers that were outrageous for any car at that time. I think it took him a long time to convert a car into a Yenko. Not even a close comparison. Understand that the Daytona car is stickers and badging, in 20 years you would probably have to rip off all the corroded decals and repaint it anyways and put on replacement stickers. Look at the 98 GT-2 if you want something that is collectible. You can't even get really nice GT-2 now for less than 100K, in 25 years that car will be worth some $$$.
