Does anyone know if there is a limit to how fast you can go before you might loose the vertt boot cover? When I get up over 100 it starts to lift up
from the air passing over it :) and I worry it could come off? I know its pinched in and wrapped around the front real well. Thanks

I have the same problem but have not lost mine yet. I think it is pretty secure as it is pressed down accross the complete back as well as the 2 feet at the front.

During driver training schools and at times at higher highway speeds, I have noticed that the boot cover gets pulled out slightly from the leading edge of the cover (where you tuck it in in the front). However, I have not had aproblem with it coming completely detached.

Pain in the butt since I am often looking back to make certain its secure, but I have not had any issues with it coming off. It is secured under the trunk so it should not be a problem.

Anyone with a good idea to keep it secure like perhaps some pins ....please let us know.

Good question by the way!!

I used to wonder the same thing with my S2000. Everytime I as driving above 50MPH on the highway I would always worry but after many drives, it seems like they are okay as long as secured properly. I would not go around doing a high speed track event with one though.

Seriously I have noticed it too, but it does'nt seem to be a problem...most of the time I don't bother with the cover

So far, mine's fine up to 150.

Not sure I'd want to go much faster than that with the top down.

Thanks Everyone :headbang: . I wasn't sure if anyone had one launch on them before, if the front sliped out and cought air. Mine lifts up slightly (very distracting) but doesn't seem to get any wind under it. Sounds like 150mph has been tested so I will relax about it now. Thanks again everyone!

And I have had mine to 140+ with top down many times. The boot starts to lift even at 80 mph. But I wouldnt worry about it coming off. They seem to be pretty secure. You have to have the boot on, it looks like crap with the top down and no boot.

Since it is a Dodge/Mopar part, I am sure they did some testing to ensure it would be a hazzard. If there were any potential concerns, I am sure they would not have included it with the car.

No worries, it is every bit as secure as the C6 vette top

Maybe a Velcro strip just under the leading edge might alleviate your fears.

I will test this myself as I often wondered about it (although I once briefly pushed the snake top down to 160 with no apparent problems other than some light fluttering).

Will keep you posted on my progress with this project.

Of course, this Carbon Fiber Speedster cover

web page

Would be a most elegant solution to the problem, in my opinion.

I believe other products (more solid, one piece cover) are also available from Autoform.

When installing the boot, make sure that you get the front edge down under the covertible top. I don't get any fluttering, so those of you that do may not have the top all the way down under and as snug as it should be.
