Hey guys,

So I just picked up a used 3 inch track exhaust an it will be here on Wednesday. There is no wright up for the GenIII in the how to section, and I only seem to be able to find limited pictures, and documents regarding the install.

Anybody have a wright up they would care to share? I will document mine and add it to the how to's so the Gen III guys have a pic by pic install document.

Thanks,

Andy Wheeler:2tu:

Biggest piece of advice is the exhaust tip needs to be as far forward in the sill opening as possible (almost touching) as the exhaust will lengthen when it heats up. Also, after confirming perfect placement, many have placed small welds at the connection points as they have a tendency to loosen up causing the tip to droop, which allows it to come into contact with the sill causing all sorts of bad issues like paint bubbling for example.

Good luck

OK got that part now, which I did read that:2tu:

How hard is it to remove the sill panels? I read somewhere that there is one tricky bolt to get to.

Thanks guys any info would be good.

Thanks,

The one tricky bolt is upper front of the side panel. You can get at it with a 10mm open end. All you need is about a quarter turn. With all the other bolts removed, you can rotate the back end of the sill outwards about 20 degrees (front bolt is pivot point), and rest it on a cardboard box. Take another half turn on the bolt and the panel will slide right out (the panel is slotted so you don't have to remove the bolt entirely). This bolt is very handy when you're checking exhaust tip fit and you don't have an extra set of hands -- the bolt is a nice "hinge" point.

If you don't have a lift, use a set of ramps on the back wheels to get her up high enough the remove the 6' aluminum under panel (a whole bunch of #40 torx bolts), and the cross pipes.

LOL... You can thank the wrench bending VCA gals for this tip!

Awesome!

Thanks for the detailed info!

Really looking forward to it. Looks pretty easy. I am sure it won't be as hard as it was to install my blower on my Vette.

Thanks my Brotha!:2tu:

hi Ansy
I did the corsa install a couple of weekends ago on my 06 vert. Plan on taking 2-4 hours for the job as you will have the sills on and off several times to get the exhast tip lines up. Like said above, make sure you line them up near the front edge of the hole as the axhasut get 'longer' when it gets hot.

Thanks Tony! I will definitely make sure it is forward in the exhaust port.

Having the sills off will make it easy to buff with the rotary. Should look nice and new when it's all done.

Thanks guys!

Andy:)

If you got the 3", but not doing 3" cats, how are you connecting to the stock cats 2.5" outlet, did you get some kind of flange or adapter? I'm curoius as when I did mine about a yr or two ago i couldn't find an adapter it was either the 2.5" Corsa or the 3" and 3" cats - or cat delete replacing them with a flange.

Install is pretty straight forward & easy, just take your time & enjoy the quality time with your beast. DIY projects are so rewarding!

Sorry I meant to say 2.5. I agree about doing your own installs. I have not let a shop touch my last 3 cars. I just don't trust shops to take care of it the way I would. I know they don't have the time, or space so I just do everything myself.

Looking forward to getting it on the car.

Just installed the new Corsa Track on my 2009.

Kit is 2.5 inches at the connection to the Cat but "necks up" to 3 inches very quickly and balance of mufflers / pipes is 3 inch ID.

Thanks Dan just rapped up my install as well! Car sounds great, really wish I could drive it today but it is raining pretty hard here. It should clear up tomorrow.

Damn glad I got rid of all that useless piping in the back. What a mess.

Thanks for the tips guys, install went very smooth.:2tu:
