On my 96 gts I have all the screws removed and everything is unplugged. I just cannot figure out how to work the dash around the steering column.
There is an "L" shaped portion that wraps around the lower left hand side of the column that seeems to be the part that is preventing it from coming out.
Read every thead I could find pertaining to this and found nothing definitive. What am I missing?
Thanks

Aim the steering wheel down. You may have to remove the plastic shroud on the steering column to make enough clearance. Show a photo of the L portion, I am drawing a blank on that one.

I tried tilting the wheel all the way down - no luck. The yellow around it is a rag. Also, if I remove the three screws that hold the bottom of the shroud will the top half come off too?
I need to buy the tool to remove the screws so have not tried it yet.

Yes the top half will come off. You can remove the dash without removing that shroud but you have to be confident. I have removed 3 now, little flexing but no breaking.
