Belongs on a toyota, honda or other ricer forum where someone might care and not be offended by inane ricer nonsense. What next? Viper low rider contests with hydraulic suspensions to see who's car can bounce up and down off the pavement the highest? Bruce

I know the whole thing seems silly, but it actually takes quite a bit of skill (just like sprint car racing, turn right to go left!). Mopar thinks it's important enough to give a full sponsorship to the car. Whatever the case it is really fun to watch!

Drifting- Its an art unto itself. Fun in the same way that its fun to plow snow off the end of your snow board when you switch from heel edge to toe edge, or when stopping, and you plow a big sheet of snow up, as you scrub off speed. Its all about the motion, the balance, and finesse. Probably more popular in countries where there aren't a lot of open track days, for the regular guy to have something to do car related. Me, I don't do it, I just go to the track when I have time.

I saw Marco's car being driven by Eric Messley, absoulutely kickin tail at Buttonwillow. No drifting, just all out racing. Quite a sight to see Eric so far out in front of the other Comp Coupes. He was a bout half a lap ahead of everybody, then his tires went away..They resolved to start a race on new scrubs next time.

Congrats to the winners!

Congrats Dan

It takes a lot of skill to win one of those events - more so in a big engined, bit tired car that is a lot less forgiving than a skinny tired car. It also takes a good setup and a reliable engine that can take high load for extended periods at low speeds - which means it needs a good cooling system. Sounds like you got it well sorted to me!

Great effort!
