Do all Viper owners use an air compressor to dry their Vipers after washing. I understand the reasons.....preventing swirls and scratches from towels. But does anyone use Good towels and avoid swirls. And have good results?

Thanks, Dave :usa:

I started using my leaf blower and it works great. It lets you blow all the water out of the hard places to get with a towel - the recesses around the windows, doors, hood and side sills. A quick wipe with a towel afterwards gets whatever mini-drops that are left. Saves a lot of time.

I use a Stihl gas powered leaf blower. It's the backpack version with 140mph at the tip. Dries the whole car in about 2 minutes walking around it twice.

I use an Echo gas powered leaf blower, followed by royal velvet towels. If you go the leaf blower route, either buy an electric or a gas model that does not exhaust thru the blow tube (needs to have a seperate exhaust off the engine), otherwise it will blow tiny droplets of 2 cycle oil on your car thru the blow tube.

I find that using my right foot after washing works quite well, then a towel to dry off any excess that may remain after my little ride ;) :usa:

Where does one find a Water Blade? Is that the name of the company I should search for on the net? I've never hear of it? No prob with scratches I assume? Sounds cool. Thanks.

Also available at Wal-Mart - it's called a California Water Blade.

I use the Water Blade, hit a couple of spots with a soft towel, go for a quick spin, then hit a couple of spots (esp. the rear bumper area) again with a soft towel, and REPEATEDLY use a towel on the drip points under each door (i.e., where it leaks over time onto the hockey stick after being washed!).

Leaf Blower for me as well. Love the look I get from the neighbors, especially in the fall when I blow off the car but don't touch the leaves.

The water blade, or any other object dragged across the paint bothers me. The only scratches I have originated from towel drying with 100% cotton towels. It's not the cotton, but the debris they invariably trap.

I too always use a (electric) leaf blower to dry, follow it with The Absorber (buy it from Pep Boys) then cotton towel to finish. Definitely reduces the risk of swirl marks. Great for getting water out of those hard to reach areas. My neighbors thought I was a little nuts. Works great when I wash the motorcycle too.

I'm a little out of practice though as we've had nothing but constant snow since November. But I'm ready for Spring. Already restocked on Zaino. Anybody try the Z-9 & Z-10 on the leather seats yet?

Jeeez, we are definitely posers, and I'm sure "windbreakers", I mean why does the car have to get wet if you're posing? I mean you just polish it like a piece of furniture, right? That is of course except at the last VOI, wherein we all found out it is a myth that just RT10's leak, yes the GTS CAN imbibe water under last years VOI conditions, heck a Rolls would probably leak under those conditions.
