Dodge Visa Card- cool deal on my new Viper

I just got a dodge card...since you get points toward dealer services, car purchases, etc... I was using a GM Card prior to this....

I just got all the info in the mail and I found out when you make a purchase at a dodge dealer for goods or services then you can get 5 points per dollar, versus 1 point per dollar at regular places. I just called and asked if I could put my 10k downpayment on the car on the credit car and get the 5 points per dollar spent...and they said yeah....

Pretty cool. I was just gonna write the dealer a check plus my trade in money, but heck, why not get the points and then just pay off the card. I pay it off every month anyway.

I though others might want to know about this...you can use the points to get service discounts, dodge merchandise, use points towards payments to chrysler financial....hope this helps others get something back

I've done this as well on other Mopars but there is a limit as to how many points the card will allow you to accrue in one month.

If they let you put $10k on the card than take it! Pay the card off in one shot and you just made $500! The dealers around here only let $3k on a credit card.

I am gonna put as much as they let me.....especially since the card company said no problem...lemme go read the rules of this thing...hehehehe

They'll let you charge up to your limit on the card, but you will only receive so many points per month. I can't remember what the point limit per month is, but I did the same thing you are talking about and hit the limit. Beyond the points limit, they're glad to let your charges grow, but they will not give you any more points for them.

The rewards are good. I've used my points for more cash down on my wife's car.

Or you could just go the American "non-traditonal way" and simply write them a check for the whole car. I found this to be better than any stinking points myself

Dagger, too funny....I got the cash...just want whatever extra I can get outta the deal. Hehehehe....they offer and I am not passing this by......

I called the card company back and they said there is no limit to the points I can max in 1 month. I asked 3 times....so basically $500 in discounts with one purchase.

Makes sense to me...let them pay for my gas for a month...hehehe...or two....too bad I bought the nose mask already.
