Does anyone have a recomendation for a mini polisher/buffer?

I'd like something in the 3-4" range. I would prefer air powered, but electric can do. I would like to find a quality product but also want to get the best bang for the buck.

If you just need something for small touchups like targeting a small imperfection then just go with the drill attachment for a 3" pad. However, with the small stuff sometimes its better to just do it by hand so you can better target/isolate the imperfection.

If your looking to do the whole vehicle then def go with a standard(larger) random orbit unit like the Griot's or PorterCable

Get a Porter Cable or better yet Flex Polisher. I've had both and love my Flex Orbital. It will knock out imperfections with the right compound and is very easy to use.

Griot's makes a small one that I hear works quite well.

For any small jobs, I have a Porter Cable 7424XP and the 4" Pad adapter. I use Adam's 4" Focus Pads. There is also a straight chuck adapter for a drill, but you need to be careful using a non-orbitting machine like a drill. You have the potential of heating the paint and burning through.

The griots random orbital is OK....I do not like the mini polisher from griots, it's drastically underpowered, and could pretty much do better by hand! That being said, I unfortunately don't have an alternative to recommend to you.

If it's just for tiny touch ups, it really doesn't matter about battery life etc....just get a cheapo one, like a Meguiars etc. I bought a Mothers Powerball (for paint), for quick touch ups, and use it on low speed setting. It does the job. Not meant for heavy compounds though
