Track times last night in a 99 rt/10. Pretty bad track conditions. It was 43 degrees out and slippery. The Savannah dragway in Georgia is known to be 3 to 4 tenths slower in the 1/8 mile then other places. Best 60 foot was 2.19 and 1/8th at 8.1 and the trap was 92.8. I tried everything, no luck. I bogged it, slipped the clutch, and also did a 1500 rpm launch with no luck. It would tach out first gear everytime. These tires are brand new as well. What do I need to do to be fast. The trap speed tells me im a 12.0 car but not spinning the tires like this. I also wheel hopped real bad in 2nd. Has anyone ever run street drag tires on the road, as everyday tires? How long do they last? Check to see if my attachment went through, Its a pass from last night. Any help would be great...........

Bottom line - Cool weather is horrible for traction. IMHO, it is going to be to hard to hook up at 40 degrees to get any good times on street tires. Wait 'till spring, dude. Cool roads also cause terrible wheel hop in the Viper, from my experience.

Prashant & I went to Lone Star Raceway Park last week. The weather was cool, not 43 degrees by far though. Track conditions sucked for me because I have regular ol' street tires & after EVERY SINGLE pass, they had a hose, TOTALLY soaking down the entire entranceway so people could do burnouts! I couldn't go around, and doing a burnout w/ street tires would be stupid. So we had to roll right through a freakin ocean everytime!

My best 1/8 ET was 7.7 at 95.3 MPH. My 60 ft on that run was 1.90.
I know under better conditions that would improve.

Prashant's best 1/8 ET was a 7.6 if I'm not mistaken. Jump in and correct me if I'm wrong ****.

We were just practicing our launces, etc...but all & all it was really fun.

Bryan when are you gonna catch up w/ us? I think we're going to that track in San Antonio next week. My girl got great Video when me & Prashant went & when we all went 2 weeks ago (John's Venom 800 TT) so I'll show you the races & runs soon.

You will need an extra set of wheels. The Nitto drag radials are about the best, however, they will only fit on a 11" front wheel. The factory says the optimum temp is 200 degrees F. That is a moderate amount of burnout. They are streetable, however, don't try to any hard corners.
