I am sure that most of you heard about the Thrashers' player that was killed in the Ferrari. We hear a lot of about guys pushing cars (and bikes ala Jason Williams) but I never really thought much of it. I still enjoy lighting up the snake and reporting a good kill every once in awhile.

A friend of mine was out tooling in his new 5 series BMW this weekend. He was showing off the car's handling to a buddy like we all have done dozens of times. When they hit the high way he lost control of the car, (suspected he cut a tire) at around 80 MPH. The car hit the retaining wall on I-95, killing his passenger instantly and critically injuring himself.

It was a sad day for me. Drive safely guys. There is just too much at risk...

It sounds like it was more dumb luck than risky driving. I spent a lot of time on Balt I95 and if he was only doing 80 then someone might have pushed him out of their way. I am truely sorry to hear about the loss of your friend though.

Ouch ! Very sorry to hear that. As you say, like we all have done at times.
Having blown a left rear 335/18 at 60, can only guess at higher speed control
issues. My condolences, and hopes that critically injured friend pulls through.

I am truly sorry to hear about your loss. That is a hard lesson to learn about when and where to show off your skills and your car's capabilities.

My deepest condolences to you and the families of your friends.
