Electrical problem, PLEASE HELP!

i just bought a 2005 srt-10 with 2k miles and under full throttle at higher rpms (above 5,000) the electrical system sputters. the lights blink on and off and the the radio resets. i happens in all gears and only under these conditions. i tried recreating it standing still at lower rpms. any ideas as what this could be or how i could describe it to the dealership if i take it in for warranty.

I would open the trunk (and Batt. access lid)and be sure the battery connections are very tight. In my experience at 5000RPM+ things tend to be shifting around (like me getting pressed back into my seat). The battery would be a first step in my opinion, at least it wouldn't hurt to check.

BAttery is suspect. My dad had SIMILAR issues with his radio, and when they replaced his BATTERY under warranty, it fixed the problems. He also has a 2005 SRT-10

The "LOWEST BIDDER" provides the battery. They are notoriously inconsistent in their quality. May be a cheap fix, and COULD be under warranty if U have time to monkey with going to a dealer.

Also, if you have recently installed a stereo or Sirius radio, it may be interferring with the signals transmiited to the dash. This happened to me with a Mopar Ipod adapter.

i also noticed it 2 times going over rough bumps. so i am leaning more toward a loose connection.
i am new to the gen 3's, where is the battery located?
i am going to check that out.

Remember Rich, contact Stoneridge Dodge to see if they can give you any details of the warranty work they did for an issue that sounded kinda the same...they might be able to provide some info. And check the owner's manual for general info on stuff (I put it in the trunk, which I assume you've found) - battery is in the left side of the trunk.

I totally agree. After three bad batteries in my '05 in only 800 miles, I will never trust a Mopar battery again. If you ever completely drain one you may as well replace it.

My radio does resets when played close to max and under hard acceleration as well. Pain in the ass. So I see this is a common thing, but overall the quality of my 04 is superb. I stomped the snot out of a Ford GT 550 two weeks ago, shot past him in second gear like he was standing still...but after, my radio would not play for about 30 seconds. Call Chuck Tator Tator Dodge) and get his views on this.

I would also check the positive cable where it is bolted to the fuse box under the hood to be sure it is not loose. Also check the engine to frame ground cable that is attached to the passenger side motor mount to be sure it is tight. I still have my original battery in my 2003 with 20,000 miles on it. Even after sitting for a month or two during the winter here in cold New England the car fires right up on the first try. I wonder if DC used a different supplier for batteries on the 2004-2006 model vipers than they did in 2003.
