Hello Guys,
I just received my gauge pod from Scott at Elite. Great service by the way. I have seen posts that there is currently no direct fit gauge pod for the viper. So I was prepared to accept that the fit would not be perfect. I proceeded to do a test fit and noticed as posted that there was a pretty significant gap between the A-pillar and the top of the pod. I put my thinking cap on for a moment and came up with the idea of heating it up with a hair dryer so that the plastic would become pliable and hopefully shape the pod to fit the A-pillar. So after a few heating cycles and molding I was able to mold the top of the gauge pod to almost exactly match the shape of the A-pillar. Basically no more gap at the top. I was supprised how easy this was. So those of you looking at this pod, don't give up. A little work and the piece fits really well. Hope this helps
Note in this picture: The pod is not secured in the car yet so nothing is holding it in place. Ultimately the fit will be snug to the pillar in the final install.
