Do you hear about some problem with new Gen V engine ?

Blow crank and bearings with only 2550 miles on my new 2016 ACR...

Yea something about the blocks not being cleaned right before assembly, metal shavings then run through the engine and that's that, end of story. But they will replace it.

WOW, unbelievable on a 2016yr Viper.

The fact that these engine failures are still occurring on later model years cars makes it seem that the build process was never resolved 100%.

Truly a shame and a bad reflection upon prefix/Arrow

The 2013 and 2014 were acknowleged by Dodge to have had issues on a certain number of cars due to "debris" in the engine which people believe was addressing casting "sand" that was not completely removed. Those specific cars are identified by the r28 campaign, aka, recall. I have also read of 2016 and 2017 cars' engines failing. A respected Viper shop that does horsepower mods on Gen Vs has claimed that there are other problems with the engine's machining and assembly processes that lead to bearing failure (but not being an issue with the actual bearings being used as many misinterpret.)

Wow, this is the First time I've heard of it happening on a 16' Model, WOW!

Did you notice how much oil was in the engine?
Some Vipers were using a lot of oil during the first 5000 miles like 1 qt every fill up.
I think it had to do with the cars being shipped with the break in oil installed instead of the correct oil.
