Well I went to visit the King of Viper mechanics this saturday. Adam or AB on the boards, he is the one that sells the impressive spark plug wires for our snakes. Anyway the IN/KY club is privledged to have someone close enough that we can trust to work on our cars. I have become a bit of a grease monkey now days since tracking the car seems to require a bit more maintenance. Plus with alll the fun modifications I have done I get to teach my boys a thing or two. So I got to be the student this go around a learn from the master. Here is a large amount of fun photo's of the day and all the work I/We did. I realy cann't thank enough ADAM and highly recommend his work to anyone!

Nice Shandon. How do you like the mounts? I have heard the vibration can get annoying. I am curious to hear your input since I think we have the same taste in mods.

Glad I'm not the only one who says the mounts are a PIA!

Looks like the pilot bearing came out in one piece, I used a Snap On puller, and it pulled the bearings out and left the race in the crank.. another PIA!

Same SPEC kevlar clutch I used (I bought it from JonB), there was a bit of chatter / stickage until it was broked in.. typical of kevlar clutches..

The pressure plate is a stock LUK unit, SPEC just grinded off the LUK logos and painted it blue... here's where they grinded the 3 logos off, one under the sticker.. and they also grinded off one logo on the backside of one of the fingers, and painted them grey. I was a little annoyed, felt it was slightly misleading..

Btw.. what's with the pics, looks like a scale die cast car in the driveway, wild focus on the camera.

Good job,
Mike

The Vibration is there but as too annoying? Im not sure why people would say that? If I considered a Viper a luxrury car then yes I would be peaved at the new mounts:lmao: I have put about 50 miles on them and I am very happy with it so far. The car feels like a real racer now and the shifter doesnt budge much at all. I floored it in 2nd and kept my hand on the top of the shifter to test. It just doesnt move! They are a ton of work to get in. My understanding is that the vibration gets better as the mounts break in some but even as brand new I have no issue with them. I actually like the vibration and tight feel of the car!

This Clutch... Ohh baby! Smooth as butter.... I have to give perks to Jon B! on the recommendation of the Spec2+ clutch! Very Very nice! Way better than my old OEM one!

The camera used was a Canon 5D II with a 85mm f/1.2 lens. That lens rocks! The DOF really rocks on that lens.

By the way Shandon, got my new alternator in my Ferrari and 15 minutes later it caputs on me! I was soo pissed since it's like putting in the passenger side motor mounts.

You have an eye for detail AB, remembering the TR resto job, etc.. and the pics. Good work. I do like that clutch, it's definitely better than OEM, just grabs an goes.. reason why I went with Woodhouse mounts, the grabby clutch intensified the OEM rubber mount compliance making it easier to miss 3rd.

Regards,
Mike
