I live where there are VERY few Vipers in 100 miles or more. Usually people will see it and go, "OMG a Viper". or come over at the gas station and take pictures, etc, etc. Every once and a while I will get a "Nice Corvette", usually from a little kid. I have had it called a Ferarri once.
But here is the most amazing one to me. Took it to a relitively big car show this summer. I entered in Mopar 2000 and up but I wasn't sure I had the right number down. So I asked the guy at the gate if I had the right class and he replied, "No, you need to be in the corvette class!" I was shocked! I mean these are car club guys running this thing. My response was, "But it's not a corvette." He looked at the car again and fell all over himself apologizing. We both laughed and he got me parked in the right spot. I really just think he wasn't paying that close of attention.
edit: Oh I want to add something too. I think we have to admit that the Gen3 + 4 Vipers have a similar look to Corvettes. But does the Viper look like a Vette or does the Vette look like a Viper? To me the Vette has copied the Viper look. Take for example the head lights. Viper style in '03 Vette coppied it in their '05 and up. That wide stance has been a trademark of the Viper. Vettes were always a narrow car until Vipers came out. You tell me.
