What was the factory warranty (bumper to bumper and powertrain) on 2002 GTS? I thought I heard 6yrs/60Kmiles. I take it this was only for 2002 and NOT for 2001?
Thank you

Thank you - beautiful cars! I am looking at 02 yellow gts. My dilemma is to go with or without the black sripes...

Depending on the time of the year the car was sold the 2002 came with:

3/36 Limited Bumper to Bumper warranty.
Early in the year they also came with a 7/100 powertrain extension ( non-transferrable )
Later in the year the powertrain reverted to 7/70 and it has an unlimited number of transfers that goes with the car.

Depends when the car was actually sold as new. I bought my car in Nov '02 and it had the 7 yr/ 70K powertrain warranty which was transferrable. I believe VIN makes no difference as it is the actual date of sale that matters most in this instance.

Sale date is correct. You have a car with the 7/100, so the 3/36 is transferrable, but the powertrain is not. There is a "Wrap "extended contract that allows you to get the bumper to bumper limited service contract up to the 7 year period and it is priced very reasonably.

Wow! I need to revisit my actual purchase date on the sale contract. Was told explicitly by the dealer and in emails that my car had the 7 yr / 70K transferable warranty when I purchased in late Nov or early Dec '02 - do you have the specific date range for the 7yr / 70K transferable warranty on '02 Vipers? Could impact resale value to some extent.

man, this is starting to worry me a bit. I got the VIP summary report specifically for my car and it specifically states it has 7yr/100k mile limited powertrain warranty and states that it is NOTtransferrable. The car was first titled in March of 2002. How much is it to do this extended coverage?
