I had a conversation with a good friend of mine last night. He is in a position to buy a 1970 Hemi Superbird. He wanted me to post this to see if anyone could help locate one for him. It can be any type of Superbird ..440 six pack or any superbird made...but he would prefer a hemi...he will look at any leads...he really wants a superbird.

He will give a $1000 reward to anyone who helps him find a successful buy on this 1970 Hemi Superbird. He would prefer it to have bucket seats and all numbers have to match. Condition is optional, but needs to be in good working order.

He has already looked in most of the Chrysler/Plymouth magazines and publication. What he is looking for is someone who may not advertise the car in the current media. Maybe someone you know orheard of. Any leads will be followed on. Again, any successful leads that are sent to this address: [email protected] will get $1000.00 cash upon a successful sale :thumbs. This friend of mine is very trustworthy and will not rip anyone off...but again it has to lead to a successful sale.

So help a fellow Viper Owner out and get some cash for some upgrades just for referring a name and helping close the deal. :2tu:

Go to www.fastlanecars.com and look up the 1970 Hemi bird they have for sale. It is an unrestored 8000 mile survivor! Orange with black interior. Fastlane Cars is located in a suburb of St. Louis (near St. Charles) and they specialize in such musccle cars. There you go!!!!!

The price is steep but you can negotiate. I do not know where else one would find such a rare car in unrestored fashion with such low miles. Woo-Hoo!

Steve and AB,
That car is not worth $225K. It's an automatic.

Be very careful dealing with Fastlane...very careful.

If you really want a Superbird, PM me and I'll see if
I can help find one reasonably.

Last HEMI Superbird that I know of to change hands was at the Branson Collector Car Auction. 426 Hemi/Automatic. Unrestored, but in nice shape. 8,084 Mi. Sold at $153,700 + fees. Orange/Black/Black viny top.
Don't know if the new owner would like to flip it, but it gives you some idea of current market.
PS Old HEMI birds do not like to run on modern gasoline.
Best of luck on your search.

There are three from this month's Mopar Collector's Guide, I have copied them below:

1970 Plymouth Road Runner SuperBird: 440 V8 Super Commando, 4spd, 43,277 original documented miles, 100% impeccable interior, 97% original paint, already fully decoded by Galen Govier, finished with the rare & limited R22 8-track cassette system right from the factory assembly line. The dealership logo is amazingly still affixed to the trunk of the car. The very first 1970 Illinois license plate (FX2345) & frame from the original dealership is still mounted on the car. Benson Motor Co is now Oitker Ford. Exhibited in 12/92 (North Charleston area) along with a Richard Petty autograph tour event in which he made a "Santa Style" guest appearance. If you truly want to own a 95% ******, untouched original survivor instead of a fixed up incorrectly restored SuperBird, this is definitely the one for you. $98,500. 610-395-1435 eve aft 9pm.

1970 Super Bird: 881 orig mi, NY show car, 440 6-pak, 4spd, $135,000. 412-481-6350, 412-956-4136

1970 Super Bird: the last 1, #1920 of 1920, serial RM23VOA172609, all #s match, 37k act mi, 440-6 w/auto, buckets & console, 15" Rallyes w/Polyglas Goodyears, wing is signed by Richard Petty, car restored tonew, had build sheet & window sticker, car is alpine white w/black int, certified by Galen, Patik & Superbird Auto Club, there is only 1 last one, $125,000. Gary 920-203-0206, 920-233-1334.

ab, If you locate a car please have it authenticated. During the last muscle car craze many knock-offs were built. A recognized authority, Galen Govier @www.gvgovier.com, will travel if necessary. He may be able to locate a car for you. True, todays pump gas is a problem since it's formulated for fuel injection.I used a 1:3 mixture of CAM 2 and premium unleaded without a problem.
