Ferrari's, like anything highly tuned and unique, NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN! I *CANNOT* stress that enough. You let them sit, you will have problems...simple as that. The belts aren't what usually fail, its the bearings in the tensioners that fail. Parts are expensive, so is a service. BUT, if you do the actual cost/mile calculation, in most cases is no worse then a BMW or Merc over it's 100K lifespan vs. a 6K a year on a ferrari.
Keep a car running, and the service up to date, and she'll last for ever. The 355 has good ballance, but don't expect viper torque off the line. They sound ubergood with a Tubi though for sure!
Any car will break. Italians have a bad rap, just like british cars do. I loved my Lotus, and they are a lot stronger than people give them credit for. Like anything.. it's a "Use it or loose it" situation.
