"The Don Yenko cars and the Baldwin chevrolet cars command huge numbers because they were chevy dealers offering an option package and full warranty with their brand new cars. This is nothing like a "tuner" modding an existing car.The modded vipers will never bring huge dollars.Anyone can get their car modded by these tuners. Now if a dodge dealer put out a limited # of modded cars, that were new, that would be a different story.

Uhhhh, I hear your comment, and I'll raise you one. Did you watch the Barrett/Jackson auction. Does the name Callaway ring a bell? Hmmmm, not a Chevrolet dealer, right? Anybody remember the prices?!! Reeves Callaway is a TUNER, just like Jason or Doug. ALL 4 of the cars that went across the block went for astronomical numbers and we are talking about C4 and C5 here, actually 1 C5 and 3 C4's. And if I remember correctly the earliest was early 90's. Wow, that's a lot of appreciation for cars that are only 15 years old or so that have been done by TUNERS not dealers.

Im sure you have heard of the b2k option,or maybe it was bk2.It was an option you could order from a chevy dealer, and oh,by the way ,it was the Reeves Calloway package. You cant possibly be comparing Callaway vettes, which have a totally different origin and background to viper tuner cars?Face it,the money spent on tuner mods will be worth 25% if that. There will be no appreciation on these cars. The stock vipers will one day be worth some good money, not tuner modded cars.Until you see a factory sponsered tuner package,or an option to have your car shipped to a tuner before you take delivery, you just have after market mods.No other way to slice it.

Picture this...... What if the Red and white color combo was the first color available on a GTS and no other GTS's existed (like in 1996). AND there where only 360 made.... What would the price be 9 years later and would there be any left for sale new?
In the above, it wouldn't matter what color it was, either a r/w or a b/w car would be a strong reseller. IMO.

One model is pushing 10 years old and the other is hardly 2.
Now that, even I couldn't have said any better. You helped make the point for everyone to understand.

Today's market, a b/w near 10 years old, sells for the same as a r/w 2 year old car.

A FE w/ 1,100 miles one owner is for sale, I can pass out the phone number if anyone wants it, just PM me, and $58K cash will walk away with it, maybe less.

A B/W w/ 1,100 miles one owner is for sale, I can pass out the phone number if anyone wants if, just PM me, and $60K cash won't buy it, but $61K will. (not mine, $100K and a good ****** wouldn't get mine from me! :D )

Weird how a two year old car can be bought for less money than an 8 year old car of the same mileage.

R/W pride, B/W pride, Yellow pride, that what makes this whole Viper thing so great! :2tu:

Enjoy the pizz out of them and who cares what they are worth or what someone else thinks of your color or model!

Sorry, bad info above!

I was at the dealership late this afternoon picking up my new Roe Supercharger :2tu: :D  and I asked again, the asking price on the FE is $57K, he said maybe less would buy it. Anyone want the phone number just send a PM!

If anyone has followed the history of the OTHER American sports car they should be able to discern some trends. First and last of a generation do command some value, but rarity of color and options will ultimately trump either the 96 or the 02, simply because there are so many of them. There are many combinations such as the blue white RT pictured that are MUCH more rare, 53 vs. 600 or 300. All of the ACRS especially some in low color combinations will do well. Connelly interior is really VERY rare, some colors only have a handful represented. The Levin/Heffner cars will command HUGE values some day, just like Yenkos or Baldwin/Motion. Check out the production numbers on red/silver cars, silver/blue and black/silver. Only a little over 100 black/silver cars produced in 99/00. The numbers are even less for the red/silver and the silver/blue. The law of supply and demand will dictate rarity of these combinations over any consideration of first and last. Just my humble opinion, but backed up by waht has happened in the Vette hobby.

There are a number of 1 of 1 Vipers..... factory VCA raffle specials mostly... the most unique in my mind is the one and only ACR RT/10 a few years back in a one of one color to boot! The hundred GT-2's are really neat also. ACR's in rare color combo's are under appreciated, 30 yr's out, they will be the R-models of Vipers... the few FE ACR's fit the bill of double unique... and non-comfort package ACR's.. well...few and far between.

'92's, B/W 96's.... those are the ones that say "Viper" to today's youth..... the one's that will pay to much for them when they are 45.... LOL

Have Y'all have already forgot the "Shelby" Viper's that Fitzgerald Dodge did......

Maybe we need to talk Bob into doing a "Woodhouse Edition"????
