Hello,

Earlier today at Deosto Memorial Dragway in Bradenton, Florida we ran the following time with our 1997 Viper GTS, BTR 750 SS.

9.92 E.T. @ 143.08 MPH

The weather was very warm (88 Degrees at the trailer) and we made the run at 1 pm..middle of the day. The track was hooking good.

All I will say is that there is more left in the car and we will visit the track again in cool nightime air very soon. I believe that this makes our Viper the first Florida Tuner Viper in the 9's (you Houston boys are ways ahead)

The timeslip breaks down as follows and If someone wants to assist we can post it on this forum.

60' 1.43
1/8 mile E.T. 6.46
1/8 mile MPH 109.39
1000' 8.35
1/4 mile E.T. 9.92
1/4 mile MPH 143.08

Thanks for reading,

Tom

Seriously, great run and congrats. Spill the beans on the car, now: Heads + cam + NOS? Gears? Tires? Sequentially tranny and 4-link??

Ben,

It felt like a catapult launch, reminded me of an old SS/AA Cuda we once owned. Funny thing is I was expecting the clutch to slip but it didn't and yanked me back in the seat. Wasn't able to bring in 2nd nos stage until top of 2nd gear..lol.

Speaking of launches..I have faster cars..8 second cars that 60' 1.20's but they are lighter and don't have that slam you in the seat feel like the 3500 + pound Viper.

As for mods, the car is a 750 Super Snake right from my website.
It still has stock throttle bodies and unported intake. Stock drivetrain, gears and my aftermarket half shafts.

I'm going to offer starting this week (in celebration of finally running a 9) a special package that includes all of the performance mods that my car has and will include a guarantee of the RWHP on any Gen II Viper. Safety equipment, tires and other drag race specific items will be available as options. The guarantee will be of at least 760 RWHP (900 Flywheel) and the price will be $ 16,950.00 including installation. This special will run until November 15th for anyone who is interested.

Thanks again for everyones comments, looking forward to seeing you at the track.

Tom, I could not believe my eye's!!! That was incredible to watch a tuner run his car, in the heat of the day (1

o pm) and in the Florida humidity with such fast times. We both know you had faster times still left in the car. I was also wondering if you could smile any bigger when you showed me your time slip. Outstanding driving and awesome car for $$$$ (9 sec.

Tom, LOL... good to see you have some humor. I guess you called your dad and told him? Keep going to the track, it gets better. We are going back to the track this week..... those RSI guys came out strong so we're going to try and make a come back.

Congrats Tom. I would've been there but I was too busy argueing with the Ferrari Inspection Tech in Homestead.

Bravo Zulu Tom! 1.43 60' with stock gears! That is truly amazing. What tire did you use to accomplish that feat?
Have you thought of adding Chassis tuning to your list of services? Seems like there are a lot of folks out there who could use your talents to get their car "hooked up."

Thanks,

Running e.t. streets and skinnies. I changed the front shocks, which is no secret, but I did go with a slightly different spring rate and have a looser than normal extension setting, which helps keep the front end up. Front sway bar removal helps too.

Thanks again for the comments and questions,

Tom
