dialing in my engine after all the upgrades and checked the fuel pressure guage and it looks to be 45lbs fuel pressure , looks to be low thought it was to be 55lbs . i will try another guage tonight after work . if it is correct 45lbs what options do i have ? externail pump and regulator ? replace pump in the tank? could the regulator be calibrated to low or the pump weak . thanks to all for the input the car has 3,700 miles

If it is the common Gen I fuel pump problem with the check valve...peak pressure should be good...but will quickly drift down with pump off, thereby introducing a variable if the time between the peak and the measurement is prolonged.

mrbob: remember that I am NOT a tech, and that I am only tossing out random ideas here...so after determining peak pressure and possibility leak down problems, I am offering the following threads for your review more as insights than easy solutions. These posts were by a VERY smart, talented, and respected Member here..with great credentials. He posts as "Tom, F & L GoR".

The first thread describes his initial attempt to add an inline check valve...an approach that he later abandoned as explained in the second thread.

This next thread is a more complex solution:

And, finally...he posted DYI instructions :
