Not that any true Viper afficionado cares about gas mileage, but on the highway, in 6th gear, it is not uncommon to see upwards of 20 mpg. En route to VOI-5 in Las Vegas in my 97 GTS, I averaged 22 mpg for the entire trip, with some tanks as high as 26-27 mpg. Obviously driving style will influence mileage greatly. Your 9-13 mpg range sounds about right for average Viper driving, especially if you like to exercise the beast often.

11/15 mpg around town. 21/22 mpg hwy. (with 3.33 gears.) The harder you drive the lower your mileage. Mileage can be somewhat improved by keeping your RPM's down complements of the huge low end torque the motor produces.

On a recent trip from San Diego to Vegas we got 23.5 MPG going (at about 72 MPH/1500 RPM in 6th gear most of the way) and 23.4 on the return trip. (only 8-9 MPG while in Vegas)

To comment on what Ron said I own his 97 now and it averages about 16 miles to the gallon with around town driving and stepping into it a couple times....
