I would like to repair (paint or whatever) the many scratches on my gas tank access panel in my trunk. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Just get a can of BBQ paint. It works great! Take everything out, clean the trunk real good and start spraying [tape off the outside]. "Cheap fix and it looks like factory!"

Yea, I was just thinking about getting under the car to polish everything! I just don't have a way to get under the thing yet. Not a lot of room to crawl under the Viper like my old Super Bee! Hey Wizard, are you joking? That's it?

He's serious.

After the painting is done, you can use your spare tire lined with foil to hold the charcoal, but for the cooking surface get an old wire shelf out of a cheap refridgerator...

I wondered why that spare was centered so perfectly in the trunk and exposed? I love a great tailgate party! :D

make sure to clean all the armor all and any other oils off first (with prepsol or acetone) or you will have a real mess when you paint. And put a sheet around the entire car, spray paint goes everywhere!

Doesn't acetone remove paint? Which would be a bad prep step IMO?

It can if you leave it on. I used it all the time, it is much stronger than most prep cleaning solvants, but your correct for someone that doesnt do this often it probably be better to stick with prepsol or equal.
